The German winger had been a serious summer target for a number of Premier League clubs - with Chelsea, Arsenal and both Manchester clubs said to be vying for his signature.

German winger Serge Gnabry will finalise a new four-year deal with Bayern Munich next week
Following reports that the winger was in talks over a new deal, the Athletic have confirmed that Gnabry has agreed a long-term extension with his current side.
He will sign a new four-year extension that will expire in June 2026. Gnabry has accepted the proposal and is set to finalise the deal next week.
The German's current contract was set to expire next summer, hence why a number of clubs had enquired into his availability this year.
Sportsmail understands Chelsea made what were described as 'tentative' enquiries over signing Gnabry, while the two Manchester clubs were also linked with a £35million summer move.

The 27-year-old was brought into the Arsenal academy as a teenager in 2013, before Arsene Wenger appeared to lose faith in him and sent him loan to West Brom in February 2016.
Gnabry was then shipped to Werder Bremen in 2018 before making the switch to the Bavarian side a year later, where he has gone on to become a world-class performer.
Winning 12 major trophies with Bayern including four Bundesliga titles, a Champions League and the Club World Cup, Gnabry has enjoyed a stellar career back in Germany.
He scored 14 goals and laid on six assists in 34 Bundesliga games last season for Julian Nagelsmann's side – his best goal return in the league.
