Wolves are 'preparing a final contract offer' for £40m-rated Man United and Arsenal target Ruben Neves with the midfielder 'open to staying at Molineux' after revival under Julen Lopetegui this season
- Neves has been monitored by Man United and Arsenal for some time
- His contract at Wolves expires in 2024 and they don't want to lose him cheaply
- Reports suggest the midfielder is now open to signing a new deal at Molineux
Wolves will reportedly make one final effort to tie Ruben Neves down to a new long-term contract amid interest in the Portuguese star from Manchester United and Arsenal.
The 26-year-old midfielder's contract expires next summer and he has rejected a number of extension offers as leading Premier League clubs circled.
The Molineux club don't want to lose one of their star assets cheaply but the player's £100,000-a-week wage demands have proved a sticking point in talks.
The Sun report that Neves may be more amenable to signing a new deal with Wolves than before - but only if they secure their top-flight status.
Julen Lopetegui's side sit 13th in the Premier League table but are far from safe, with just four points separating them from the bottom three.

Captain Neves has scored five goals this season and is rated at around £40million.
United have come close to signing Neves on two occasions in the past and Erik ten Hag was keen last summer.
While signing another midfielder is a priority for United in the next window, there are other targets ahead of Neves. Arsenal have previously monitored Neves but have a strong squad.
He has also been watched by Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, having performed well under Lopetegui, who replaced the sacked Bruno Lage back in November.
Wolves boosted their survival chances with a 1-0 win over Chelsea on Saturday, a game Neves missed, with Matheus Nunes scoring the decisive goal.
They host Brentford this Saturday as they seek to pull further away from the relegation places.
