REVEALED: Tottenham chiefs were left stunned at Feyenoord demanding £15m for Arne Slot having being told he was available for £6m... with Spurs now eyeing Enrique, Postecoglou, Potter and Nagelsmann with Dutchman staying
- Arne Slot announced on Thursday he wouldn't be joining Tottenham this summer
- The Feyenoord boss had recently emerged as a key managerial target for Spurs
- The £15m compensation required to get him to the club startled senior figures
Tottenham chiefs were left stunned after being slapped with a £15million bill for managerial target Arne Slot just days after being told he could be released from Feyenoord for £6m.
Spurs were turning their attention to identifying new managerial candidates on Thursday after Slot released an early morning statement saying he was staying at Feyenoord and intended to sign a new deal.
Luis Enrique has held talks with Spurs and remains an option, while Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou's chances of the job are improving. Graham Potter has now emerged as an option.
Intriguingly, sources on Thursday indicated Tottenham retain a tentative interest in Julian Nagelsmann - a coach the club insisted they weren't pursuing just two weeks ago.
Mail Sport revealed on Monday that Tottenham would have to pay more than the anticipated £6million compensation figure to Feyenoord to land Slot.

The 44-year-old has a £6million release clause in his current deal that activates next summer, however there was an understanding Slot would have been obtainable for a similar fee this summer.
But that figure has escalated significantly in the last few days amid tensions between Slot, his agent Rafaela Pimenta and the Feyenoord hierarchy - who convened on Wednesday for crucial talks over his future.
Slot wanted to take coaches Marino Pusic and Sipke Hulsoff with him to north London if he became Spurs boss.
Sources indicated on Wednesday that the Dutchman would seek to take a third member of staff with him to England - performance coach Ruben Peeters.
Feyenoord have also been annoyed by the fact they have spent £7million on two new players identified by Slot - Ramiz Zerrouki and Thomas van den Belt - ahead of next season.
Slot's refusal to publicly shoot down talk of a move to Tottenham in recent days has exacerbated the strain on the relationship.
Even after Slot's announcement that he would be staying at Feyenoord, it is understood he was fully open to joining Spurs this summer.
It is understood the cost of extracting Slot and his team from Feyenoord this summer would have cost up to £15million - a price more than double the coach's £6million release fee next summer.

The escalation of the compensation required to get Slot also startled senior figures at Spurs
Spurs sources insist any compensation figure to land Slot was not a factor - pointing to the fact his statement says it was always his intention to discuss a new contract with Feyenoord.
But the rapid escalation of the price to remove Slot from his current deal with Feyenoord has startled senior figures at Spurs.
'I have been hearing a lot of rumours going around about other clubs' interest in me,' said Slot.
'Although I am thankful, my wish is to stay at Feynoord and continue working on what we created last year.
'Yesterday's meeting was exclusively for an extension. All talks with the club have always been only in that sense. I'm looking forward to next season with Feyenoord.'
