- Angel Di Maria will be available on a free transfer in the summer

- Juventus placed 7th in the Serie A this season, their worst finish in 11 years
Angel Di Maria has confirmed that he will not be extending his stay at Juventus past the 2022/2023 campaign in a heartfelt goodbye message to the fans.
The 35-year-old joined the Italian giants last summer on a one year deal with an option to extend his contract for a further twelve months.
However, Di Maria will be moving on to pastures new after a frustrating season plagued by injuries.
Juventus recorded their worst league finish in 11 years (7th place) during Di Maria's stay and the Argentine star admits that he departs the Allianz Arena with a 'bitter taste in his mouth' having been unable to guide the club back to their former glories.
'I have come to the end of a difficult and complicated period,' Di Maria wrote on Instagram.

'I leave safe in the knowledge I gave my all for the club to continue winning titles, but it was not possible.
'I leave with a bitter taste at not having succeeded, but with the joy of bringing with me many friends in this marvellous locker room that I was part of.
'Thank you to all my teammates for the affection they showed me from the first day, I always felt at home. I salute all the Juventini for their daily affection.
'A big hug. I will carry you in my heart.'
Di Maria's next steps are unclear although his priority is to stay in Europe in order to boost his chances of selection for Argentina's squad at the 2024 Copa America tournament.
Many top clubs have been linked with a move for the World Cup winner including Inter Milan, Benfica, Newcastle, Tottenham and Arsenal.
