Chris Sutton has claimed people call Man City 'boring' because they win so much, rather than due to a dislike of their style of play.
Since Pep Guardiola arrived at the Etihad in 2016, the Spaniard has overseen a period of dominance, with City winning 17 trophies during his tenure, including four successive Premier League titles.
As a result, they have faced criticism for being 'boring', with many fans and pundits fed up of the lack of competition in England, although City did suffer a shock FA Cup final defeat to Man United at the weekend.
And, speaking on Mail Sport's It's All Kicking Off podcast, Sutton said people are bored of Guardiola's side because they are 'so good' and said those that accuse them of having a 'boring' style of play are just 'jealous'.
Ladyman agreed with his co-host, as he labelled City 'monsters', although he did point to the fact that some people prefer watching teams who 'get it forward quickly with a bit more crash-bang-wallop'.
