Neymar shocked a street vendor after stopping by to buy a Brazil shirt ahead of their opening Copa America match.

Brazil got their campaign underway with a stalemate 0-0 draw with Costa Rica on Monday, with the likes of Vinicius Jnr and Rodrygo failing to get on the scoresheet.

The Selecao will be keen to reclaim the Copa America after rivals Argentina won it with Lionel Messi and co in 2021.

They will have to do it without captain and talisman Neymar, who is currently recovering from a long-term injury.

The Al-Hilal forward ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament during Brazil's 2-0 loss against Uruguay last October.

Neymar has travelled to the United States to support his team-mates, and was seen going through a rollercoaster of emotions during the match as Brazil failed to find a crucial winner at the SoFi Stadium.

Before kick-off, the 32-year-old stopped by a stall and was heard yelling 'We want the Brazilian shirt, please!', from his car.

The vendor was oblivious to the fact that Neymar was the customer and brought him the shirt before being left starstruck after realising who the customer was.

Within seconds, Neymar's car was surrounded by a number of supporters who were keen to take selfies.

A separate video from the match shows Neymar in disbelief after Vinicius Jnr was subbed off to be replaced by Endrick in the 73rd minute.

Brazil head coach Dorival explained after the match: 'We tried with him on the wing and we didn't succeed.
