A forgotten ex-Arsenal star has admitted that he has a 'taste for revenge' as he looks for the eighth club of his professional career.

The player in question is none other than Jeff Reine-Adelaide - who came through the north London side's academy and remained for two seasons before joining Angers.

After impressing during his time there, he swiftly made a move to Lyon but had his time their disrupted by injuries - including two ACL tears in 2019 and 2021.

In a bid to recover his best form, Reine-Adelaide went on two loan spells before eventually joining Belgian side Molenbeek - a sister club to Lyon.

However, that endeavour also suffered a disappointing ending after he was temporarily hospitalised for a concussion following a game in May.

The player in question is none other than former Gunners midfielder Jeff Reine-Adelaide

He departed the Belgian side at the end of the 2023-24 campaign and is now seeking a new club, as he looks to put his injury woes behind him.

Speaking to L'Equipe recently, he said: 'Last season, clubs were interested in my situation but needed to be reassured on a physical level.

'I needed a club that would allow me to find rhythm and fitness again. It's obviously scary from the outside, but the injury had no after-effects or seriousness.

'I stayed under observation that same evening at the hospital and I left the next day. I didn't really understand what happened… it was weird because I didn't feel it was serious. I need to find a club whose sporting project speaks to me, that fits the football I love.

'But the human aspect will be essential… My priority is to have fun and be part of a good group. I also have a taste for revenge.

'Some have written me off, but apart from the ACLs, I have never been a very injured player. I have been labelled as a fragile player, even though it's not true.'

Reine-Adelaide made 39 appearances for Lyon before joining RWD Molenbeek in 2023

Reine-Adelaide joined Arsenal as a youngster in 2015 and remained at the club until 2018. He made eight competitive senior appearances for the Gunners.

He signed for Angers following a successful loan spell and then spent time at Lyon, which included loans at Nice and Troyes before he joined Molenbeek on a permanent basis.
