- Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly and Faouzi Ghoulam have tested positive for Covid-19
- Both players are asymptomatic but were placed in isolation after their results
- The Senegalese centre-half and Algerian left-back will miss at least two matches
Napoli have confirmed defensive pairing Kalidou Koulibaly and Faouzi Ghoulam have tested positive for coronavirus on Friday.
Koulibaly is asymptomatic but has been placed in isolation after a positive test, with the Senegalese centre-half joining Algerian left-back Ghoulam on the sidelines due to Covid-19.
Ghoulam is also asymptomatic but unlike Koulibaly, tested positive in a private test on Thursday, while Koulibaly tested positive after testing at Napoli.
Napoli's Senegalese centre-half Kalidou Koulibaly has recently tested positive for coronavirus
Fellow defender Faouzi Ghoulam also has coronavirus and has been placed into self-isolation
The news was revealed before Napoli's fixture at Genoa on Saturday afternoon in Serie A.
A club statement said: 'After the swabs carried out this morning, Kalidou Koulibaly has tested positive for COVID-19.
The player is asymptomatic and will observe a period of isolation at his home.'
Napoli boss Gennaro Gattuso will be without both players for at least their next two fixtures
At the very least both players will miss the Genoa clash and the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final match away at Atalanta on Wednesday.
Despite the defensive absences, forward Victor Osimhen is available after recovering from coronavirus and a shoulder injury.
Gennaro Gattuso's side currently lie fifth in the Italian top tier, one point off fourth-placed Juventus in the Champions League spots.
