Rickie Fowler is a winner on the PGA Tour once again, beating Collin Morikawa and Adam Hadwin in a playoff to seal victory at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
Fowler had not won in four years - since Super Bowl Sunday in 2019 - but was back in the winners' enclosure in Detroit, also sealing himself $1.6million in prize money.
The American went into Sunday atop the leaderboard, having birdied six of his last eight holes in Saturday's third round, and he had huge support among the fans in attendance at the course.
It was far from plain sailing at a rain-affected Detroit Golf Club on Sunday though, with tee times brought forward to avoid the incoming storms.
And storming up the leaderboard was Fowler's American rival Morikawa, who posted an eight-under-par final round to sneak into the playoff at 24-under.

Hadwin, who just three weeks ago was tackled to the ground by security who didn't recognize him at the Canadian Open, made sure people were saying his name by making it a three-way tie for the top after 72 holes.
On the first playoff hole, it looked as though Fowler had put himself out of contention when he found the rough down the right of the fairway with his tee shot, but a pinpoint accurate approach gave him a brilliant opportunity for birdie.
While Hadwin and Morikawa faltered, Fowler holed out for a three, sending his caddie wild on the green as the pair won for the first time in four years.
Since he last posed with a trophy, the 34-year-old has married his wife Allison Stokke and the pair now have a daughter.
While his form has been brilliant all season, Fowler finally securing the long-awaited victory will surely make his July 4 weekend feel very sweet indeed.
It is the sixth PGA Tour title for Fowler.

For Morikawa, this is his seventh runner-up finish in 94 PGA Tour starts. Hadwin is a runner-up for the fifth time in 239 starts.
Entering the tournament, Fowler had seven top-10 finishes on the season, including a tie for fifth at the U.S. Open.
Monday qualifier Peter Kuest (65), Lucas Glover (65) and Taylor Moore (67) were tied for fourth at 21 under. Kuest, who started the week ranked 789th in the world, did well enough to earn a spot in this week's John Deere Classic in Illinois.
Play was suspended Saturday for 1 hour, 42 minutes because of lightning and the schedule for the final round was adjusted due to inclement weather in the forecast.
