The cover stars of NBA 2K 25 have been announced.

The highly coveted honors were given to one current NBA star, a WNBA star, and a retire Hall of Famer.

Last year's editions featured the late Kobe Bryant on the cover, a nod to his No 24, and the New York Liberty's Sabrina Ionescu.

This year, Celtics star Jayson Tatum will feature on the standard editions cover, Las Vegas Aces legend A'ja Wilson will be on the WNBA edition, while both will be on the special All-Star edition.

It will be the first time a WNBA player has featured on a non-WNBA edition of the game in history.

Former Toronto Raptors sensation Vince Carter will be on the Hall of Fame edition.

'Being featured on the NBA 2K25 cover is a big moment for me and a testament to the ever-growing fandom of the WNBA,' said A'ja Wilson, via press release.

'Seeing more and more WNBA athletes scanned into NBA 2K25 to best capture the style and confidence of the league has been empowering, and I can't wait for fans to experience it in-game,' Wilson continued.

Tatum and Wilson were the focal points of their respective teams in winning the latest NBA and WNBA titles.

'It’s an honor to be named a cover athlete for NBA 2K25,' Jayson Tatum said via release. 'I’ve been playing NBA 2K since I was a kid and it’s been a dream to one day be on the cover. Even after coming off an NBA Championship, it’s humbling to see this come to life.'

The game launches on September 6 worldwide and will be available on PlayStation 5 PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

While the standard edition has unlimited distribution, the WNBA Edition is a GameStop exclusive, and will only be available with physical copies for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It will also only be available in North America.

'Between the honors NBA 2K and the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame have bestowed upon me, this year is an unforgettable one, making me pause with gratitude at my career,' Vince Carter said via release.

'Being named a cover athlete would have always been a special moment for me, but it is a particular honor to be on the cover of the NBA 2K25 Hall of Fame Edition,' Carter concluded.
