Travis Kelce has 'four or five more years' left and the Chiefs CAN'T let him retire, teammate Chris Jones insists

Chris Jones revealed he doesn't plan on retiring until his long-time teammate, Travis Kelce, is also prepared to hang up his boots. 

The Chiefs defensive tackle inked a new five-year deal with Kansas City in March, and seemed to indicate he plans to see the contract through while talking to reporters on Wednesday. 

'Once you begin to think about things like that, you're getting to feed the mind those types of thoughts,' Jones said, per ESPN. 

'I don't even want my mind to even go that far to the R word,' he went on, before addressing retirement rumors surrounding Kelce. 

'He's got like four or five more years and what is he talking about, right?' Jones said.

'He's got like four or five more years,' the defensive tackle said of his teammate

'We can't let TK go. It's like we retire, we've got to retire together. Give me at least six, four years, then we'll talk about it.'

The Mississippi alum, who has won three Super Bowls alongside Taylor Swift's boyfriend, said he hopes to be a part of the first NFL team to win three straight Super Bowls. 

It comes on the heels of Kelce's remarks about when he plans to call it a day on his playing career. 

'I really can't put a timeframe on (retirement). I love coming to work every single day,' he said, per The Athletic, noting that he wants to play 'until the wheels fall off.'

When the day comes, Kelce has revealed he wants to become a TV analyst post-football

'Hopefully, that doesn't happen anytime soon,' he went on. 

'Obviously, I know there's opportunities outside of football for me. You have to keep in perspective that I'm still a little kid when I come into this building, man. 

'I know I'm 34 years old, but I have a love to do this right here, in the middle of the heat in June. I love coming to work every single day.'

The three-time Super Bowl champ inked a new two-year contract in April, making him the highest paid tight end in the league with a fully guaranteed annual salary of $17million. 

However, when the time does come for Kelce to retire, he revealed on his New Heights podcast that he wants to follow in the footsteps of both his older brother, Jason, and Tom Brady by becoming a TV analyst.
