ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith has apologized for a tweet asking if Kim Kardashian was a prostitute and if her mother, Kris Jenner, was a pimp.
Smith discussed this on his show in reference to an accusation made by controversial conspiracy theorist and conservative political commentator Candace Owens all the way back in September.
Owens made the accusation in response to a DailyMail.com exclusive interview with Ray-J from May of 2022 - where he alleged Jenner orchestrated the release of their now famous sex tape.
The conservative commentator, strangely, reacted to the article a whole four months later, saying. 'Kim Kardashian is a prostitute; her mother is a pimp - worse than a prostitute.'
Stranger than that, Smith decided to react to Owens' comments a whole ten months after she made them - one year and two months after Ray-J's initial comments.
Stephen A. Smith got in hot water when discussing accusations made months ago by conservative political commentator Candace Owens about Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner
In a now-deleted tweet, Smith questioned if Kardashian was a 'prostitute' & Jenner was a 'pimp'
After being called out by Patrick Beverley, Smith called his words a 'clerical error'
'I ask you again, assuming that allegation is true and the mom watched them have sex three times before handpicking the film she wanted her daughter to be seen in as it was released to the public, is Candace Owens wrong?' Smith wondered.
But in the promotion of his show, Smith simply tweeted, 'Is Kim Kardashian a "prostituite"? Is Kris Jenner a "pimp"?' before following that up with context in another tweet.
Of all people to defend Kardashian and Jenner, NBA point guard Patrick Beverley criticized Smith, saying, 'Not cool. She has kids. Should not be the tittle [sic] or topic.'
Smith admitted that Beverley was right and later deleted the tweet before quote-tweeting the NBA star in response.
'Clerical error bro. You are absolutely right,' Smith said. 'That is being corrected right now as we speak. And for the record, I don't think of @KimKardashian that way nor would I ever speak of her or any woman that way, which I've stated. That's for checking that issue.
But Smith's video on his show seems that he agrees with Owens in some way - IF what Ray J says is true.
Smith's sister, who was on the show as a guess, also seemed to somewhat agree - but added, 'A broken clock is right twice and that's what I think of Candace.'
