Chris Froome is in talks to leave Team Ineos and join Israel Start-Up Nation ahead of this summer's Tour de France.
The British four-time yellow jersey winner is understood to have been offered a three-year deal by the inexperienced Israel-based team.
And Froome, 35, is now considering making a rare mid-season switch which would guarantee him leadership at the rescheduled Tour, which is now due to start on August 29.

The Kenya-born rider is out of contract with Team Ineos at the end of this year and has not yet been offered a new deal.
He is desperate to win a fifth Tour but is no longer the only leader at the British outfit, who also have Welshman Geraint Thomas, the 2018 champion, and last year's winner, Colombian Egan Bernal, in their ranks.

Froome has not completed a race since his life-threatening crash at last June's Criterium du Dauphine last June, when he broke his neck, femur, elbow, hip and ribs.
He is currently training in France with other Team Ineos riders as they prepare for the resumption of racing.
Froome's possible new team, Israel Start-Up Nation, launched in 2014 and were only awarded World Tour status this year.
