The Kid Laroi wins multiple accolades at the Billboard Music Awards for his hit song Stay featuring Justin Bieber
The Kid Laroi cleaned up at this year's Billboard Music Awards, which were held in Las Vegas on Sunday.
The Australian rapper won multiple accolades for his hit single Stay ft. Justin Bieber.
Laroi, 18, whose real name is Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard, won Top Hot 100 Song, Top Streaming Song and Top Collaboration.

He also won gongs for Top Billboard Global 200 Song and Top Billboard Global (Excl. U.S.) Song, bringing his awards tally to five.
Although he wasn't in attendance for the ceremony, the teen hip-hop star took to Instagram to thank his colleagues and fans.
Laroi shared a photo of himself shirtless at home while holding a pile of awkwardly Photoshopped Billboard Music Awards.

'Thank you @bbmas and thank you to the beautiful fam for runnin it up!' he wrote.
'I'm sorry I couldn't be there today. A thank you to the [goat emoji] @justinbieber, love you man.'
After growing up in a housing commission block in Sydney's Waterloo, Laroi began rapping at the age of 13, predominantly as an outlet to process his family struggles.

He eventually relocated to Los Angeles with his family in 2020 after securing a record deal with Sony Music.
In an interview with Rolling Stone in October last year, Laroi spoke about his humble beginnings and inspiration.
'My mum used to play a lot of hip-hop around the house. She also used to play Erykah Badu and Fugees, Tupac, Kanye [West],' he said.

'As I started to get older and go through certain things, I started relating to a lot of the lyrics. Then I just was like, "Damn, I could probably do this s**t myself."'
Speaking to NME in July last year, Laroi said his collaboration with Justin Bieber, 28, came about after the superstar slid into his DMs.
'I actually never asked him how he found my s**t. He just DM'd me one day on Instagram and was just like, "You got the sauce,"' he said.

'I responded back and was like, "Yo, what's up? I'm a big fan." He liked my message and that was it from there.
'Two months later he DM'd me again and was like, "Hey, what's your number? I think I have the right song for us. Let me send it to you."
'He sent [Unstable] to me and I was like, "This s**t's crazy," went [and] wrote the verse, sent it back, and that was that.'
