Kyle Richards hits back at criticism after she and estranged husband Mauricio Umansky gave their daughter a $62K vehicle for her 16th birthday: 'She's a good kid'
She gave her daughter a luxury vehicle for her 16th birthday earlier this week, and now Kyle Richards has responded to criticism the car may have been too expensive for her teenager.
Kyle and her estranged husband Mauricio Umansky gave their daughter Portia a Porsche Macan - a vehicle that has a starting price of $62,900.
When asked about the birthday gift by TMZ, Kyle, 55, insisted the vehicle wasn't as expensive as believed - and cited her daughter's good grades and driving skills as reasons she deserved the vehicle.
She also revealed she played no role in the actual purchase of the vehicle and that her 'husband' Mauricio had bought it himself.
'Well it wasn't as expensive as they reported but I understand that, I get that,' Kyle said.

'She's a very good driver, she's a straight A student, she's a good kid,' she said, adding she believed her daughter deserved the vehicle.
Kyle also shared she was unaware of how much the vehicle cost as Mauricio had made the purchase.
Notably, she referred to him as her 'husband' despite their separation.
'I said, my husband Mo, "She works very hard," and you know you can talk to him about that, that was his purchase,' she said.
She also revealed the surprising reason they selected a Porsche.
Asked if they purchased the car as it was similar to her daughter Portia's name, she replied: 'That may have had something to do with it.'
In a TikTok video posted Tuesday, Kyle and her estranged husband were seen surprising their daughter with the car. The vehicle sat parked in their driveway and was decorated with a huge red bow.
'Whose car is that?,' Mauricio wondered.
'Are you kidding me?,' Portia said as she covered her mouth before bursting into tears.
Kyle burst into laughter as Portia walked out and saw a black Porsche Macan with a big red bow on the front hood.

'Are you serious?,' Portia asked as Kyle continued laughing.
Kyle and Mauricio's daughter Sophia, 24, captured her sister's shocked reaction for social media and a camera crew also was spotted as Portia accepted the keys and owner's manual for the car.
The Porsche Macan has a starting price of $62,900, but it can climb higher with style and performance upgrades.
Kyle, Mauricio and Portia teamed up for a group hug as the teenager cried with joy.
Another TikTok post showed Portia taking her new Porsche for a spin with her sisters Sophia and Alexia, 28, and parents along for the ride.
'I'm whipping it,' Portia joked while driving.
Kyle and Mauricio announced their separation in July 2023 after 27 years of marriage.
They were shown on season 13 of The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills telling their children about their separation in an episode that aired in February.
