Mary Fowler showed off her figure as she headed for a romantic waterfall swim with her boyfriend Nathan Cleary.

The Aussie footballer, 21, took to Instagram on Friday to share an array of photographs from their picturesque day out in nature.

In the snaps, Mary showed off her toned physique in an olive two-piece as she posed for the camera ahead of taking a dip during their romantic getaway.

She looked as loved-up as ever with rugby league scrum half Nathan, 26, as the pair pulled funny faces while taking a selfie together.

The Manchester City forward showed off her fresh-faced beauty while she also shared other snaps of herself looking stylish during their trip.

Mary and Nathan have been an item since late last year, with Daily Mail Australia exclusively revealing their romance at the time.

At the time, pictures showed Mary resting her head on the Penrith Panthers star's chest in a Perth park as they cosied up to one another ahead of her Matildas match.

The couple then officially unveiled their romance in Perth in October and finally went Instagram official in January of this year.

They have gone from strength-to-strength ever since, often sharing loved-up snaps of each other to their respective social media pages.

Last month, the couple also sent fans into a frenzy as they shared romantic snaps from a date night in Sydney.

Sharing the snaps to Instagram, their followers were quick to question them on whether an engagement will soon be on the cards for the couple.

'So when are you announcing the engagement?' messaged one fan, while another added: 'Drop a knee lad.'

Both athletes are said to be very private when it comes to their relationships, with Nathan admitting the spotlight on his personal life is something he didn't expect.

'Obviously it's different from when I was young coming into first grade and people are dissecting my game. I hadn't had that before,' he said.

The couple's much-needed downtime together comes after Nathan was sidelined from the entire State of Origin series after suffering a gruelling injury.

In the middle of May, it was confirmed that the champion NSW halfback had suffered a grade two hamstring injury, with an expected eight-week recovery time.

He re-injured his right hamstring in Penrith's 16-10 win over Canterbury in a huge blow for the Blues, who have a number of key players sidelined through injury.

He left the field just before half-time after hurting the hamstring for a second time in as many months, with the Panthers issuing a statement confirming the diagnosis.

'Scans revealed a grade 2 hamstring tear which will see Cleary ruled out for eight weeks,' the club said in a statement.

He missed Origin I at Accor Stadium in Sydney on June 5 and has also been ruled out of games two and three in a huge blow to the team and fans alike.

However, the Panthers said they are optimistic that the triple premiership winner will return for their round 20 match against the Dolphins on July 21.

'He's steadily going through his rehab and it's going well. Let's hope he keeps going well,' the Panthers shared earlier this week.
