They were longtime rivals in the lifestyle television 'wars'.

And Chris Brown and Adam Dovile finally came face to face on Dancing with the Stars on Sunday.

Chris, who previously starred on The Living Room, and Adam, who is best known for Better Homes and Gardens, proved there was no bad blood between them despite the years of competition.

Adam, 41, who is a contestant on DWTS 2024, has opened up a supposed 'feud' between the two fan favourites.

'I've always had nothing but love for him [Chris] and the other guys on The Living Room as well'  he said in an interview with Yahoo Lifestyle on Saturday.

'Yes, obviously it was a battle of the lifestyle programs, but in the end, we're all human'.

Adam's comments come after the Dancing with the Stars debut last week when host Chris, 45, joked about their 'feud' and called it 'the elephant in the room.'

'We were TV rivals for many, many years in the cutthroat vicious world of Friday night lifestyle television,' Chris told Adam during the DWTS premiere on Sunday.

He continued: 'It's hard to even look you in the eye, the fury is so deep. But I can't stay angry at you, look at that smile!'

Adam now says he was not expecting Chris to mention their old rivalry -  The Living Room was axed in 2022.

Elsewhere in his chat he added: 'They're [The Living Room cast] good people and I'd like to think that we're good people as well, so I'd hope that that's reciprocated.

'I asked [Chris] that, I said, ''Surely you have nothing but love for me?''. He just laughed, so I don't know if that's true or not!'

Adam has attracted a strong following as Better Homes DIY presenter, a role which has had on the show since 2015.

It comes Chris' debut as the new co-host for Dancing with the Stars alongside returning presenter Sonia Kruger on Sunday met with a mixed response from fans.

The celebrity vet copped a lukewarm reception from viewers of the dancing competition as they called for former host Daryl Somers to return.

Fans took to X as the Channel Seven show unfolded, with most bemoaning the loss of the Hey Hey It's Saturday star, 72, from their screens.

One more person wrote: 'I'm watching #DancingAU but feel sorry that Daryl isn't hosting.'

'Don't get me wrong, I love Dr Chris Brown, but I feel sorry for Daryl Somers,' another said.

A third took a direct shot at Daryl's replacement, commenting: 'We still trying to make Chris Brown happen?'

Others disagreed with the naysayers, with one person saying: 'I think Chris is going to be great in the post-performance, sky lounge role.'
