My Kitchen Rules is SMASHED in the ratings by Channel Nine's Travel Guides despite airing at a later time slot - as the once-unbeatable cooking show continues its downward spiral
The decline of the once-unbeatable My Kitchen Rules continues, after it was beaten in the ratings by both Married At First Sight and Travel Guides on Tuesday.
While it's no surprise Seven's cooking show was outperformed by MAFS on the Nine Network, the fact it had less viewers than Travel Guides is particularly worrying.
Travel Guides aired at 8:40pm yet managed to draw an impressive 870,000 metro viewers. By contrast, MKR had an audience of 832,000 despite starting at 7:30pm.

The popularity of Travel Guides can be attributed in part to its blockbuster lead-in, Married At First Sight, which begins at 7:30pm.
MAFS drew a metro audience of 1.388 million people on Tuesday night.
Channel Nine's 'social experiment' has consistently beat My Kitchen Rules in the ratings for two consecutive years.

The Seven Network isn't the only network to suffer due to the popularity of Married At First Sight, as Channel 10 is also buckling under the pressure.
The CBS-owned broadcaster has had a nightmare year with Chris & Julia's Saturday Night Takeaway and Dancing with the Stars performing well below expectations.
It comes after MKR judge Manu Feildel publicly criticised MAFS in a blistering interview with the Herald Sun newspaper.

'I think it's sad that we've sunk that far,' said the French chef.
'It brings out the worst in people. We enjoy relationships falling apart. How is that entertainment?'
Married At First Sight concludes Monday at 7:30pm on Channel Nine
