Thunderbolt kills 10 , injures over 20 in Prayagraj

Three people, including a teenage girl, died in Baghrai, Lalganj and Patti areas of Pratapgarh district due to lightning strike. Three others,including a 12-year-old boy,died of lightning strike in Kaushambi and four people died of lightning strike in separate areas of trans-Ganga area.

Chained child admitted to IMHH after video goes viral

On Sunday, a video went viral, showing a 10-year-old boy on the pavement, tied with chains. He was accompanied by his parents and all were braving the heat along the road near Agra College . Naresh Paras, a social activist working for child rights, got active and took up the matter with officials of Agra Nagar Nigam to find a place for the family in a shelter home. Dr Dinesh Rathore, director, of Institute of Mental Health and Hospital was contacted and the child was then taken to the Institute.

On the basis of the disability certificate, issued by chief medical officer of Sant Kabir Nagar, doctors in the Institute of Mental Health and Hospital termed it a case of cerebral palsy, a disability caused by damage to the brain and not a psychiatric disorder (Pic for representation)

Slaughtering of stolen cattle:Connivance of Bareilly meat factory workers to be probed

Bareilly range inspector general Rakesh Singh informed that the investigators had been asked to unravel the nexus behind slaughtering of stolen cattle in the Marya meat factory of Bareilly. He said the mobile call details of the alleged person associated with the meat factory would be scanned to unravel his links with other workers who helped in slaughtering the stolen cattle within a few hours after the theft.
