Not yet, but you can be sure I'll announce it when I do.
3czgcookie
Negative. Been excitedly checking the mail every morning. Does anyone know if we'll be sent tracking numbers or if they get where they're going when they get there?
4Ronius_Maximus
In my opinion it is safe to assume the most standard order of shipping.
5AmericanKiwi
I am anxiously awaiting as well. :-)
6CastaliaLibrary
Please note that if you have not replied to Castalia Library's email asking you to confirm your shipping address, your book WILL NOT BE SHIPPED. There are dozens of subscribers who have not confirmed their address, so please do so as soon as possible if you have not.
8Nibmeister
Yes, confirmed my address the day the message came out to reconfirm.
9West_WY_Bear
No as of today 4/28/2020. I confirmed my address in just under 2 hours of receiving the 4/15/2020 request to confirm address. I'll update here if/when received.
10shkenney
Whenever I've had books shipped to me, it's been by media mail. They've consistently taken between one and two weeks to arrive; and usually closer to two weeks.
11TheElstoNs
For those of us who missed out on signing up for Book 1 but are now subscribed, has any mention been made of when to expect communication of the availability of the extras for purchase?
12CastaliaLibrary
We are sorting that out now. There should be at least 30 available.
13silverhandorder
Received my copy of The Missionaries. Beautiful book. Good job Castalia team.
14Ronius_Maximus
Excellent
15shkenney
silverhandorder pics? Can't wait for mine!
18Nibmeister
Thanks for the pictures. I can't wait for mine to arrive.
20CastaliaLibrary
You'll have to do it very quickly once we make them available. There are only about 20 extras available and they will be offered first to subscribers at the subscription price.
21Ronius_Maximus
silverhandorder still the only one who's received their book?
22electrum47
I've not received mine, been getting worried the USPS lost it
23shkenney
I haven't received mine, either. I think they went out in a couple of batches. I also wouldn't be surprised if the USPS is a lot slower, right now. They're getting slammed; from what I hear.

I haven't received mine, either.
25czgcookie
I wouldn't worry since it seems most of us haven't received them yet (myself included). I also think USPS is struggling right now since one of my packages unrelated to Castalia has been stuck in Chicago for a week now.
26Nibmeister
My copy of The Missionaries (cowhide) arrived today. It's a beauty!
27electrum47
Mine also, now my daily mail check goes back to only anticipating bills. For anybody else waiting, there was a tracking number on the label, and it shows that the package was picked up by the USPS on May 15th.
28MessiahMan
Another satisfied customer here. I've got a handsome volume or three in my library, but they're nothing in comparison to this feast for the senses!
30Ronius_Maximus
Likewise! The Iliad can wait. Thanks Castalia!
32Ronius_Maximus
I doubt its in the database yet, but there is an option to enter everything manually, including uploading a pic.
33BackcountryJ
It came in today, I opened it up and read six chapters. The look and feel of this book is truly amazing. Thank you Castalia!
34West_WY_Bear
Happy to say my Library copy (and an the extra complimentary Library copy due to my Libraria subscription) arrived today Tuesday 5/19/2020 in one package. I sent address confirmation 4/15/2020. I'm behind on Darkstreams so not sure when Libraria versions will be shipped.
35clarksavagejr
I received mine yesterday. Looks fantastic!
I do have one minor area that could be improved.
In the back, the glue between the end paper and the case flowed out enough to glue the end paper shut along with the last page. When I opened the back, it pulled some of the paper fibers out. It didn't rip the page or anything like that
https://imgur.com/8Yb2ok5
Just something to look out for.
I'm still very pleased with the product. It was well worth the wait.

Mine did the same thing, removed a small bit of the page surface when I opened the back map page: https://imgur.com/a/wkgoLPk
37CastaliaLibrary
The thin, coated colored paper used on the end papers was a production mistake on our part. We suspect that is why the glue proved to be an issue there. We replaced the colored endpapers with heavy uncoated black-and-white endpapers beginning with MEDITATIONS.
38electrum47
Great to hear that it will probably be fixed! It was a very minor problem; it's my first leather book and I'm very impressed with the quality.
39tarnllyn
Sometimes books arrive in the mail and the corners are damaged or the pages creased. I was really pleased at the package for this. Very simple, but allowing the book to arrive in wonderful shape. Thank you to everyone involved in producing these books.
40benjitsu
Any advice on how to avoid damaging the book if mine has the issue (i.e. separate pages with a razor)? Also do you have any idea if shipping to a certain Northerly American neighbour is likely to take longer than domestic USA
41MessiahMan
One more production issue I've found, it happened twice in my copy. Two pages are stuck together at the base for a little over a quarter of an inch. Doesn't affect readability, or appearance unless I've opened up to those specific pages, but It's something to look out for in the future.

I see that issue in my Easton copy of The Hobbit but it appears to be where a group of pages are mated to another cluster of pages. It may be a feature and not a defect of this type of binding since the pages are shaped different than cheaper glued spine books.
43CronHopMcGee
That happened once on mine.
It seemed to be the gilding that was sticking.

The international books have not yet shipped because most countries, including Canada, are not accepting USPS packages yet.
45czgcookie
Have all of the US copies shipped? If not, will it be announced when they are all shipped? I've had problems in the past where my packages were delivered to the wrong address, so it would be nice to know when I should be expecting to receive it.
46CastaliaLibrary
The US copies have all shipped to everyone who confirmed their address. If you confirmed your address to library@castaliahouse.com as directed, it's been shipped. If you decided that you don't need to do so because "we already have your address" or something, it has not been shipped.
47pkcollins
I confirmed my address within an hour of getting the email. Haven't gotten it yet, should I be concerned?
I've had plenty of packages misdelivered or "lost"

I confirmed my address in mid-April and I haven't received mine either. I also have the same issues with my post office. Family members in my household have literally had to knock on neighbors' doors to find our packages that showed 'delivered' but never ended up on our doorstep. Thankfully our neighbors are kind and usually give us our packages when we have issues.
Some reassurances would be welcome.

Maybe there could be a shipping option in the subscription that allows people to pay extra for tracking.
50DrAzzume
Received mine yesterday. The book is gorgeous and will be read this coming weekend.
For those who haven't received them yet, I think some sections of the US are slower shipping than others. I suggest being patient for a while longer.

51CastaliaLibrary
We discovered that the bindery had NOT shipped 51 of the US copies. They are shipping all of them today. So, if you haven't received yours yet, they are on the way to you now.
52BackcountryJ
Will Libraria copies of the missionaries go out with meditations?
53CastaliaLibrary
No. We're still waiting on the retreated goatskins for that.
54czgcookie
My copy of The Missionaries arrived today. I'm very pleased with the quality. Keep up the good work!
55Sneevly
I received my copy yesterday. This is the first high quality book I’ve ever owned and I love it. Thank you to all of the supporters and everyone involved in making it.
56FootmanCL
Received mine yesterday.
It is a treasure.
If any map enthusiasts can point out the end paper's Easter egg, please do share.

Has the Libraria version of The Missionaries been bound yet?
59BackcountryJ
Same Question as Nibmeister, Has Missionaries been bound yet?
60West_WY_Bear
Nibmeister and BackcountryJ - my understanding from last week's email exchange from Castalia Library is that Book 2 - The Meditations Libraria version could start shipping anytime and that Libraria Book 1 - The Missionaries is targeted to start shipping around first week in August (so Libraria Book 2 will likely arrive before Book 1). I'm guessing this is due to the delay in goatskin arrival combined with the fact that Book 2 Library version was the latest in production, so maybe easier to get the Libraria version of that done first. As of today, I've only recieved my Library versions of Book 1 and Book 2 from my first Library/Libraria subscriptions (started Nov 2019).
61benjitsu
Just received my Library version in Canada...the feel of the pages and cover is EXQUISITE! I am glad I will have the chance to "upgrade" my Colliers Jr Classics to leather. Buying these is akin to planting trees you will never sit in the shade of...except you get to sit in the shade of them! I think these may outlast some of the trees I have planted! (HEY I am not old!)
62benjitsu
Page 72 has "w2ich" instead of "which". Not a huge deal but it does stick in my craw a little...disappointing given how long the error will last :) I assume everyone's copy has this mistake?
63BackcountryJ
I reread that page and didn't see the mistake - I noticed "which" used 3 times, which were all spelled correctly. Which sentence did you see this error? ;)
64TheElstoNs
My copy also had that.
65CastaliaLibrary
The green goatskin has arrived from Italy, has been tested and approved, and the binding of the Libraria edition will begin soon.

>65 CastaliaLibrary: CastaliaLibrary - Any update on the ETA for the start of shipping in the U.S. for the Libraria versions of Book 1 - The Missionaries? Thanks!
67BackcountryJ
>66 West_WY_Bear: I see they were bound 3 weeks ago along with Awake in the Night Land. Probably soon?
68West_WY_Bear
>67 BackcountryJ: Thanks BackcountryJ, received Book 1 and Book 3 Libraria subscription books on Nov. 17, 2020.
