Book Two: THE MEDITATIONS

The image now at the top of the group page is a mockup of the actual book that is now in the production process that we prepared for the future Castalia Library site. We're still waiting for the purple cowhide to ship from Italy, but the book blocks are already printed and gilded. The final product should closely resemble this, right down to the imperial purple ribbon. This is the Library edition; the Libraria edition will be a different color.

So far the spines are promising to be much more pleasing than any other publishing company's. Looking forward to populating my shelves with them. Good work!

Just curious, what material will the ribbons be made from for Libraria books?

5/8” DF Nylon Satin. The same as Easton Press.

Just got address confirmation email! So very excited.

The cowhides for the Library edition have arrived at the bindery. Estimated completion date is June 12.

THE MEDITATIONS are being bound this week and will begin shipping the following week. Word from the bindery is positive:

"Nice looking cover! Love the purple color."

Will the Libraria copies of Meditations be sent out with Library?

Both the Library and Libraria editions of MEDITATIONS are being bound on Monday, June 15th. We anticipate they will start shipping next week.

The photos on SG look amazing. I can't wait for the Castalia Library edition to arrive.

Mine just arrived today! Just jumped to the top of the TBR pile. Castalia's stepped up the quality. It looks great. It feels great. The gilding on the page edges is spectacular.

Castalia Library has surpassed Easton Press in my opinion on just the second book.

My LIBRARY copy of THE MEDITATIONS arrived today 6-29-2020. Extremely beautiful book (from the outside - haven't removed the plastic).

Still waiting for my LIBRARIA versions of THE MEDITATIONS and the prior book THE MISSIONARIES.

I have not received a copy yet of book 2. When should I expect it?

If you are not in the US, then I don't think they've shipped. If in the US, then about two weeks from the time the book is actually shipped. I believe the bindery gets the address lists in batches, so some go out later than others. It's difficult, but have patience. You'll get it

Were there delays in shipping the Libraria books?

BackcountryJ - My understanding is that due to the covid-crap, there was a delay in getting the goatskin. See my new post on The Missionaries "topic" -- I believe they will be getting us Libraria Book 2 soon, then hopefully Libraria Book 1 beginning earlier next month (August) -- assuming no new delays on goatskin.

Just received mine in Canada. It would have been REALLY amazing if the cover colour matched the purple of the satin book mark but it is still gorgeous. I may have to get myself the goatskin version if I still can

Yes, we ordered the same Pantone color, but obviously that did not work. We won't be trying that again. Now it's clear why Easton always just sticks with gold satin book marks.

Different sheens pretend to have different shades even when they don't. I quite like the bookmark ribbon against the cover, and have no desire for mine to be changed in this book.

I like how the shades of the cover and bookmarks came out. Matching them perfectly isn't important.

Both the Library and the Libraria editions of THE MEDITATIONS are now officially sold out. This doesn't mean we may not manage to discover an extra unsold volume at some point, but the books are no longer available through the store.
