“The Biggest Party of the Summer” is back! The 37th annual WWE SummerSlam returned this past weekend in Cleveland, Ohio, and the WWE 2K24 team joined in on the event with live integrations, photo opps, gaming stations, and fan content on the ground. Manager, Social Media Marketing - Sports, Alexis Polk told us more about how the team stepped into the story: “SummerSlam is one of the biggest WWE events of the year, and presents an opportunity to capitalize on the excitement surrounding the weekend to drum up even more buzz for the game while engaging with our core audience IRL. The weekend began with an activation on Dawg Pound Drive right outside of FirstEnergy Stadium before the event, where we gave out free swag and set up gaming kiosks for fans to check out WWE 2K24. We even hosted an integration giving attendees the chance to be commentators over WWE 2K24 gameplay, complete with a lead-in from WWE personality Cathy Kelley. We also had the honor of bringing our Bianca Belair SummerGlam Contest winner to the event to meet the team, grab some exclusive SummerSlam swag, and enjoy the show with his dad. One of the most memorable parts of SummerSlam was hosting Make-A-Wish America at the WWE 2K booth on Saturday, and creating a special experience for kids to participate in commentary, play the game, and take photos with the iconic WWE 2K Title, along with gifting them some 2K swag and game codes.
