Research firm Mintel found that 64% of consumers surveyed want to spend the least amount of money possible during this year’s winter holiday. And 54% plan to shop for fewer gifts than a year ago. “This will be the year where we think about holiday from a value perspective,” said Marshal Cohen, chief retail advisor at Circana. “The consumer has clearly shown the world that they are looking for better value—they’re not looking for the lowest price but about making their dollar go as far as it can.” https://adweek.it/3YJQHt0

New: Reddit, Inc. traffic has tripled following a change to the Google algorithm last September. In response, publishers are launching or revamping their Reddit presences to take advantage of the audience growth. Some are even seeing record readership. The trend reflects Reddit's unprecedented rise in search visibility, as well as the changing landscape of search and social traffic more broadly. "Every publisher is looking to see where its next batch of readers can come from, and Reddit is poised to win in this next era of conversation,” said Newsweek's senior vice president of audience development Josh Awtry. Thanks to Ewen Finser, Puck's Sarah Personette, The Independent's L. Valentina Botero, Reddit's Sarah Rosen and many others for the insights. My latest for ADWEEK: https://lnkd.in/ectvi4te
