Deel acquired Legalpad two years ago (https://lnkd.in/gQNHDm5f), and in that time we have more than 10xed revenue, 40xed our global coverage, and supported thousands of visas in 44 countries — all while working with founders whose companies’ total combined valuation exceeds $30B.
And we’ve stayed true to our commitment to making visas easy within Deel’s all-in-one HR and payroll platform.
Today, we’d like to reflect on where we’ve been and where we’re going.
🌍 Where We’ve Been
When we were acquired in August 2022, we had a relatively narrow focus on United States visas for founders. But soon after acquisition, Legalpad became Deel Immigration, which in turn became a global visa provider overnight.
We rapidly expanded visa categories and destination countries. We quickly outgrew our legacy software and began integrating all immigration features into the Deel platform. We had to rethink and rebuild our internal processes to deliver an industry-leading solution for global users, all while achieving a 98% visa approval rate.
In the face of overwhelming customer demand, the Deel Immigration team’s heroic efforts achieved more than 10x revenue growth, expanded to 44 countries, and gave global customers the experience they need: A truly global people platform that simplifies how we onboard, offboard, and everything else in between.
All of the credit for this progress goes to the teams that have applied hard work and ingenious growth through the Legalpad-Deel integration. Our Operations, Product, Sales, and Marketing teams have weathered the storm of integration and hypergrowth: we can’t overstate how amazing our teams’ efforts have been.
🚀 Where We’re Going
Going forward, we’re obsessed with three things: (1) Software, Software, Software; (2) Amazing Human Experiences; and (3) Every Work Visa, Everywhere.
First, software. It’s crazy that we still need paper forms and booklets with stickers to cross a border. If immigration were finance, we’d still be using traveler’s checks. This drives us nuts at Deel Immigration, and we’re already leveraging AI and automation to increase accuracy, reliability, and efficiency to give customers the experience they expect and deserve.
Second, immigration is always a human experience, and our human interactions must honor each user’s needs. We are continuously adapting to ensure compliance in the 44 countries we serve while also striving to maintain a state of Backlog Zero on timelines that exceed expectations for our customers.
Third, we’re committed to a truly global solution. By the end of 2024, we will serve more than 60 countries, and we’ll continue to add countries and visa types. We recognize the enormity of these goals, and we’re inspired each day by the challenge of being the driver of a modern and global immigration solution.
So as we take a beat to celebrate our team’s amazing accomplishments, we’re even more excited about the future ahead.

Fast-forward three years, and here we are again, growing from one product to a full-on global people platform with six powerful products built to help companies hire, pay, manage, and develop their teams anywhere in the world.
