“One of our key initiatives now is our #autopsyinitiative. That came out a little over 18 months ago. And that gives free secondary autopsies to any families of loved ones who have been killed in a police related death. And the key factor there in police related deaths is oftentimes the sheriff is the coroner or the pathologist who is doing the autopsy. They have a relationship with the police department. So there's a lot of bias in the autopsies. So we have independent pathologists that families can come to and we will pay for the autopsy for them. So no cost to the family, and they'll be able to get a second autopsy to get clarity on what happened and their scenarios that what the first autopsy was.” #ColinKaepernick Watch the full interview: https://lnkd.in/eBiTC8K2

Congratulations to our co-founder #ColinKaepernick who was honored at The Gordon Parks Foundation’s Annual Awards Dinner and Auction which celebrates those carrying on Gordon Parks’ legacy of advancing arts and social justice. “Nights like this also make me think about all the people who aren’t here. All the doors, all the barriers that we still have to kick down so everybody else can come through,” added #ColinKaepernick. “So when we leave here today, I ask for one thing: That all of us walk in that power. Kick those doors down. Open those windows up. Break those walls down so that the future we all want to live, we get to live together.” ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾 #GordonParks #GordonParksFoundation #SpikeLee

Driven by a passionate commitment to uplift Black and Brown communities, #KnowYourRightsCamp wholeheartedly embraces the power of education to inspire self-empowerment, mobilize communities, and pioneer transformative systems. These efforts aim to elevate a new generation poised to lead profound change. Our camps embody the heart and soul of this mission, turning our deeply held beliefs into vibrant, tangible realities. Our 12th camp was held at Cass Technical High School in Detroit and was an unforgettable day filled with inspiration and learning. We welcomed eager young minds from across the region, immersing them in their rich heritage while ensuring they learned their legal rights. Youth in attendance were presented with valuable knowledge about finance and opportunities within the tech industry. The event also emphasized the importance of nurturing both the mind and body through presentations about mental health and physical health. By the end of the day, every child left with their spirits soaring, equipped with the knowledge and tools to transform their communities and the world. We are deeply grateful for our co-founders Colin & Nessa, the KYRC team and it’s volunteers as well as the various presenters at #KYRC #Detroit: Brandan ‘BMike’ Odums and the Eternal Seeds team (Art), Cyekeia Lee and Mariela Regalado (Education), Melissa Jean-Baptiste (Finance), Crystal Bernard and Alana Burke (History), Nicole and Cayden Brown (Legal Rights), Haven Essien & Dr. Daicia Price (Mental Health), Armond Rashaad (Physical Health) and Antoine Digital (Technology). Their dedication and passion have been instrumental in making our mission a reality, and we are honored to have them as part of our community. Where should the next KYRC location be? Let us know as we continue to pave the way for a brighter, more empowered tomorrow. Watch the recap https://lnkd.in/gJ_WKiVz

We’ve recently completed our 11th camp at the Legacy School of Sports Sciences in #Houston. At the heart of our mission to uplift Black and Brown communities, KYRC tirelessly works to educate, empower, and mobilize the emerging generation of change leaders. From Oakland to Amsterdam, our commitment spans borders, bringing together children of color for a day filled with education, fellowship, support, and love. Our recent Houston event was a testament to this dedication, offering valuable insights into history, tech careers, legal rights, mental health support, and more. As we nourished minds with knowledge and inspiration, we witnessed the receptive nature of every child present, solidifying our belief that they are the future global change makers. Our heartfelt gratitude extends to our visionary co-founders, #ColinKaepernick & Nessa On Air, the #KYRC staff and volunteer team, and our incredible presenters who covered topics ranging from history and legal rights to tech and mental health. The journey continues, and we invite you to watch our YouTube recap video. https://lnkd.in/gSbKw--v

Thanks to CNN, Physics World, Colin Kaepernick’s non-profit Know Your Rights Camp, and The Johns Hopkins University for featuring my most recent journal publication! I love how each story takes a slightly different angle on the same message that equitable design of imaging systems is possible. We showed that we can mitigate skin tone bias in photoacoustic images with the short-lag spatial coherence beamformer (which I initially invented for ultrasound imaging). My most recent work on this topic was completed in collaboration with Theo Pavan at the University of São Paulo, Brazil and PhD student, Guilherme SP Fernandes, who spent the past year as a visiting PhD student in my lab as we finalized this work. It was a dream-team international collaboration that led to dream-like international attention, as I unusually and unexpectedly spent this past month in interviews and photo shoots covering this work. 🥰 Looking forward to reaching an even larger segment of our population by seeing the proposed methods implemented in clinics and hospitals worldwide for the benefit of all patients! Elevating your finances with Straightforward Credit Solutions & Education for Leaders, & Kingdom Entrepreneurs.

This past weekend was truly extraordinary as I had the opportunity to present on Financial Literacy at Colin Kaepernick’s, Know Your Rights Camp at the Legacy The School of Sport Sciences. Engaging with a group of incredibly bright and eager young minds was not just fun but deeply inspiring. This camp is a powerful platform for elevating the next generation of change leaders. A huge shoutout to Cheri Green for making this possible for Fig Restoration. And a special thank you to the #KYRC team for entrusting me with the opportunity to impact such impressionable minds. Here's to investing in our future leaders! #FinancialLiteracy #YouthEmpowerment #KnowYourRightsCamp #ChangeLeaders #colinkaepernick #crediteducation
