Strategic Partnerships @ Leafwell | Building Strategic Partnerships

Day 2 of the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) national convention and I’m bursting with enthusiasm about our partnership and the benefits that medical cannabis can offer to our country’s veterans. Wether it’s addressing chronic pain, anxiety, depression or Post Traumatic Stress, the science is in. Medical cannabis helps relieve symptoms and improve the quality of life for so many who served proudly. Personally this convention has been an eye opener for me. Witnessing the silent struggles of our veterans and the hoops they have to jump through when coming home from service to access their earned benefits. It’s humbling. I can’t wait to get back to work this week with the great team at Leafwell and create more points of access, deliver more education and enable research around medical cannabis so we can help more vets. It’s hot in Phoenix, I mean like game of thrones dragon fire hot, but I can’t think of a more noble reason to bear the heat than in service to our country’s heroes 🇺🇸

With Vice President Kamala Harris on her way to becoming the Democratic Party's presidential nominee, the possibility of Florida advancing its marijuana amendment might look brighter. Given its significant development, despite the ongoing debates and hurdles this issue has faced in the Sunshine State, Emily Fisher, founder & CEO of Leafwell recently spoke with Shira Moolten of Sun Sentinel Media Group about how the Democratic nominee could impact the passage of Amendment 3 in Florida. https://lnkd.in/gKy87U6K #cannabis #politics #florida

With Kamala Harris on the ballot, could the outlook improve for Florida’s abortion and marijuana amendments?

At Leafwell, we are dedicated to advancing the understanding and application of medical cannabis. With one of the largest patient databases in the world, we are committed to contributing to research in the medical cannabis field to improve patient outcomes and access to lifesaving care. Our latest study, published earlier this week, draws on data from 2019-2023 and provides crucial insights into medical cannabis use among individuals under 21. Here are some of the key findings from our study: 👥 Minors vs. Young Adults: Our research reveals that minors constitute a small percentage (around 1%) of medical cannabis users. Within our sample, only 5.7% were minors, with the remaining 94.3% being 18-to-20-year-olds. 📍 States with the Most Minor Patients: The highest counts of minor patients were found in California, Ohio, and Oregon. When considering rates per 100,000 population, Maine, Oregon, and New Hampshire show the highest prevalence of minor patients. 🏥 Medical Conditions: Anxiety emerged as the most commonly reported primary condition, followed by chronic pain, and nausea/vomiting. Notably, higher percentages of young adults reported chronic pain, depression, and insomnia compared to minors. Conversely, conditions such as cancer, epilepsy, PTSD, and other miscellaneous conditions were reported at higher percentages among minors. 🔬 The Need for Further Research: There remains a significant need for continued research to address gaps in pediatric-specific evidence. Understanding how medical cannabis affects individuals under 20 is crucial for improving patient care and informing regulatory frameworks. Leafwell is proud to fund and support research efforts that pave the way for better healthcare solutions and innovations. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gzAQbVWn Mitchell L. The Leafwell team had a blast at Flower Expo this week. We were honored to be the expo's official medical cannabis card provider! We connected with partners like Curaleaf and Berkshire Roots (who we absolutely love), and enjoyed engaging with so many new faces. The sense of community at this year's expo was palpable. We love any opportunity to share our knowledge about medical cannabis and discuss how Leafwell can support individuals on their wellness journeys. A huge thank you to the organizers for putting together such a phenomenal event! We'll see you at the next 👀 #CannabisConference #B2B #Parnterships #Leafwell

We were at #CANNRA in Minneapolis this week! Cannabis Regulators Association (CANNRA) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit 501(c)(4) association of government agencies engaged in cannabis and cannabinoid regulation. CANNRA's mission? To convene, educate, and support governmental jurisdictions responsible for implementing cannabis and cannabinoid policies and regulations. They achieve this by bringing together diverse stakeholders from the cannabis, cannabinoid, and hemp industries to discuss key regulatory and policy issues with CANNRA members. Leafwell's Research Director Mitchell L. Doucette, PhD, MS, was on a panel at this morning's breakout session, "How do Policies Affect Patients? Scientific and Policy Insights on Patient Outcomes and Access to Medical Cannabis and Cannabinoids." Joining him on the panel were notable experts: ➡ Steph Sherer, Executive Director of Americans For Safe AccessJordan Tishler MD, President of the Association of Cannabinoid Specialists ➡ Professor Ryan Vandrey, PhD, from The Johns Hopkins University Their insightful discussion shed light on the critical impact of policies on patient outcomes and access to medical cannabis. Looking forward to more conversations like these! #CannabisPolicy #PatientOutcomes #CannabisConference
