When I had been at the University of Montana for about 6 weeks, the reality of what was ahead smacked me in the face. In my first CMCO role, I was overwhelmed with the enormity of rebuilding a marketing communications function while also driving immediate revenue-generating results. I called one of my mentors, Stephanie Geyer, and asked her if she was available to come help me. She said she could give me 6 months. I told her I would take whatever time I could. It's been over three years and Stephanie is now a Grizzly through and through (trust me - she's playful and formidable, curious and wise). Under Stephanie's leadership, our digital ecosystem and governance look nothing like they did three years ago. A few weeks ago, we launched a revitalized institutional website, the result of over a year of work on not only the visual branding, but also the information architecture, governance, CMS user support and implementation of G4. And the thing about this launch? Stephanie and her team made it look easy (it certainly was NOT). So this is a huge shout-out to the amazing digital innovation and web teams at the University of Montana who are so wildly talented - Jen Sauer, CeeJay Brown, Mark Lannen, Will Hanley, Ben Kinder, Devin Hayes, the IT leadership support from Corey Cardoza and Zach Rossmiller, MBA and help from our partners at SimpsonScarborough.
