  • Avoid clashes by using your Workforce Australia calendar to keep your provider informed about your important commitments. Times when you have paid work, medical appointments, caring responsibilities, or other important commitments can be added as a ‘Personal Event’, in your calendar 📆 You'll need to include details such as the time and your reason for not being able to meet another obligation at the same time when adding your Personal Event. Your commitments are important, especially paid work. Your provider shouldn’t book anything over them without talking to you first. For more information visit: http://srkr.io/60463HK

On 8 August, #TeamDEWR hosted the annual DEWR Employment Services Provider Forum in Sydney. It was a fantastic event, with Department of Employment and Workplace Relations Secretary Natalie James joining employment service providers, Employment Facilitators and Support Officers from across Australia. The Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, Senator the Hon Murray Watt also attended and provided the keynote address. The forum was an opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions about employment services delivery. The Secretary spoke about: ✅ Employment Services Reform ✅ the future of the labour market ✅skills shortages ✅assisting youth and long-term unemployed, and ✅the gender pay gap and improving opportunities for women. • Due to an IT system issue with MyGov affecting the ability to log-on and potentially report compliance with requirements, the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations has paused mutual obligation requirements for participants in Workforce Australia, Disability Employment Services, and the Community Development Program for today, 5 August 2024. The MyGov IT system issue is now resolved. Some participants may receive messages related to non-compliance, prior to implementation of the pause of mutual obligation requirements in the department’s IT system. However, there will be no impact on their income support. While last week’s MyGov IT system issue is likely to have had minimal impact on most participants, the department took this step to ensure that there would be no potential for adverse impact on unemployment benefit recipients’ payments due to circumstances beyond their control.
