Unclench your jaw, relax your shoulders, and open up your airways — we made it through the Love Is Blind Season 6 reunion.
For the first time in a year, the pod squad quite literally shared their locations — no Apple Watch necessary — to unpack the season’s twists, turns, and love squares with co-hosts Vanessa and Nick Lachey. And they weren’t alone, as a live audience of fans (including some very special guests from seasons past) joined in on the fun, making this reunion one to remember. So, what went down when everyone got back together? Who didn’t show up? And where exactly was Jeramey during his night out with Sarah Ann?
All the answers to your questions await below, as we look back on the 10 most shocking moments from the Season 6 reunion. And if you want to know where all the couples and singles stand after the reunion, read what they have to say in our Season 6 status update and hear from Season 4’s Brett and Tiffany on Netflix’s We Have the Receipts podcast.
As we’re all well aware of, love is blind — and also extremely messy. Look no further than Jeramey and Sarah Ann for proof, as the two announce they’re now a couple, leaving behind a broken engagement, controversial DMs, and a much-contested group chat (more on that later). The couple share that they’re currently living together, having Jet Skied into their happily ever after following the pod squad barbecue. But since then, the couple have encountered some choppy waters — Chelsea claims they’ve broken up multiple times over the past year. “We’ve gone through real-life relationship stuff since we’ve been together,” Jeramey admits. “We did realize fighting through things continuously that we do love each other, and we wanted to support each other through this process itself… and were still fighting for that every day.” The two receive an icy reception from the rest of the cast, especially after Jess reveals that she was the one to boot Sarah Ann from the girls’ group chat. But they manage to make some inroads with the group after sincerely apologizing for their actions.
Speaking of apologies, Laura has been waiting on one from both Jeramey and Sarah Ann for quite some time now. But she doesn’t get it in person — Laura appears at the reunion virtually since she’s in Spain due to a prior work conflict. That, however, doesn’t stop her from calling out her ex and his new girlfriend for what she calls their “disgusting” behavior and firmly setting the record straight about the timeline of their breakup. And no matter how much Jeramey and Sarah Ann protest, Laura still doesn’t believe that nothing physical happened during their night out together. “For him to go meet her behind my back, I knew it was sketchy,” she says, then directs her attention squarely to Jeramey. “You’ve never taken accountability and flat-out apologized. You’re a clown.” Despite the heated back and forth, both Sarah Ann and Jeramey agree that they could’ve handled the situation better. “In my pursuit of love, hearts got broken and I apologize for that. That’s not what I wanted,” says Sarah Ann. “I’m sorry.” Laura accepts the apology but reveals she’s more than moved on since then — and with a new man.
Trevor — or shall we call him “Pumpkin” — has some serious explaining to do at the reunion. While he was an early fan favorite, the tides turned against Trevor once incriminating texts leaked online. He allegedly sent the texts to a woman as he was both entering and leaving the experiment. In the messages, Trevor wrote that he “had to pretend that [the show] wasn’t real life,” which put him in the hot seat at the reunion. “I’m toxic as well. I admit that. I need a lot of therapy,” says Trevor, who clarifies that he was “not dating [the woman] technically,” despite seemingly texting her that he loved her.
As for his connection to Chelsea, Trevor maintains that had she accepted his proposal, he would’ve absolutely moved forward as fiancés. “I was myself in those pods. I hope you know that,” he tells Chelsea. “Any clarity you need off-camera I will give to you. You are the only person that I owe any response to.” Chelsea, meanwhile, reveals that there was always something holding her back with Trevor, sharing that she had this “intuition” about him that she couldn’t explain. And while Trevor denies that he joined Love Is Blind to boost his social media following, he admits that he was there for both “good and bad reasons.” But in the end, the experience isn’t something he regrets, and he says, “I’m glad that I went on the show because it taught me a lot about myself.”
Since we last saw him, Clay believes he has “put the work in” to better himself, including seeking the help of a therapist over the past year. But is that enough for AD to take him back after getting rejected at the altar? At the reunion, Clay reveals he’s had a change of heart since their wedding day — he massively regrets his behavior in hindsight. “I apologize. I love you. You are the love of my life, and it was a mistake,” he tells her. AD is understandably hesitant to open up old wounds and trust him again. “You had your chance,” she tells him. “I feel like low-key respectfully, you played in my fucking face.” But her stance seems to soften once Clay breaks down in tears after AD questions how committed he was to the relationship. “I want to be a good guy and the best version I could be, and it sucks that I wasn’t that for you,” he says. “It broke my heart to break your heart.” Clay now believes that he’s ready to make a commitment, pledging to never turn his back on AD again. But only time will tell if she feels the same way.
By their accounts, Amy and Johnny’s first year of marriage has been blissful and basically conflict-free, even when it comes to birth control. The issue was the one roadblock the couple faced on their journey to the altar, resulting in their decision to not have sex out of an abundance of caution. But fans watching along were confused about their conversations, as the option of using the most popular contraceptive never seemed to be on the table. Now we know why, as Johnny answers the question on everyone’s minds. “Yes, condoms were always an option,” he tells the rest of the group, before admitting that he “didn’t know too much about the the whole topic of birth control at all.” After educating himself and having “continuous conversations” with Amy, the couple chose to continue to do what’s right for them. “I never ended up going on birth control, and he never got a vasectomy,” Amy clarifies. “I was never forced to do anything… We figured it out and that’s all that matters.”
Who better to guide a new class of Love Is Blind-ers through their first reunion than those who came before them? Yes, the Season 6 reunion basically served as one giant family reunion, as cast members from the show’s history returned to pay witness to all the drama — and spill some tea of their own. So, who showed up? Well, there was Season 1 cast member Giannina Gibelli, who brought along partner and The Bachelorette alum Blake Horstmann. They’re expecting their first child together. The couple was seated next to Season 3 favorites Brennon and Alexa Lemieux, who’s also pregnant, as well as Colleen Reed and Matt Bolton, who set the record straight about their current living situation. Season 4 was heavily represented with Chelsea Griffin Appiah, Kwame Appiah, Micah Lussier, and Tiffany and Brett Brown in attendance. And last but not least, Izzy Zapata from Season 5 joined in on the fun and to break the news that, yes, his credit score has vastly improved.
It’s no secret that Chelsea struggled with her insecurities in her relationship with Jimmy — and telling him that Megan Fox was her celebrity doppelgänger only seemed to make things worse. Since then, just about everybody (including Fox’s ex Brian Austin Green) has weighed in on the comparison, putting Chelsea under the world’s microscope. But she’s not letting the discourse faze her in the slightest, as she brought a newfound sense of confidence to the reunion stage. “I’m really stinkin’ proud of myself for how I’ve been handling it because the world is harsh,” she says. “People are going to demolish you no matter what you say… I’ve just been taking it with grace and making humor [out of] it.”
The conversation that led to Kenneth and Brittany’s split left fans reeling — especially given his seemingly muted reaction to ending an engagement. But let it be known that the middle school principal was absolutely heartbroken about how it all went down. “I totally understand how that looks. I can own how the perception is… but everyone processes differently,” Kenneth says. “I called Clay in shambles [after the breakup].” In fact, the deep love Brittany and Kenneth shared laid the foundation for a beautiful friendship. The two now speak every day and have formed close relationships with each other’s mothers. “The bond that we have is going to last for an eternity, and I’m happy with that,” says Brittany.
There was room for everybody on the reunion couches, but one pod squad member politely declined to attend. Yes, Matthew might’ve been absent, but he was still a topic of discussion among the cast. Since a reunion is all about receipts, Love Is Blind came through with the footage of Matthew’s date with the other Amber, confirming once and for all that he was playing games in the pods. In the clip, Matthew tells Amber the exact same thing he mentioned to AD about needing her father’s permission before proposing. Understandably, AD is upset about the similarities in the two conversations, as she’d “shared something so intimate” about her father’s passing. But AD reveals that after splitting with Clay, curiosity still got the best of her and she reconnected with Matthew. Ultimately, their connection fizzled out after a “few dates” due to their conflicting personalities, allowing her to close the book on Matthew for good.
Turns out, Jimmy’s loss is Perfect Match’s gain. Yep, Jess will be hitting the beach for Season 2 of the dating show uniting eligible singles across Netflix’s reality TV universe. But she won’t be alone, as fellow Love Is Blind stars Micah and Izzy will also be packing their swimsuits when Season 2 arrives later this year.
