MAGA Celebrates Joe Biden Staying in the Race: 'Great News'

A number of Donald Trump loyalists and MAGA supporters are celebrating the "great news" that President Joe Biden intends on staying in the 2024 race.

Biden's poor performance at the June 27 CNN debate prompted calls for the 81-year-old to end his reelection bid in order to allow another candidate to be the 2024 Democratic nominee.

The president and his team have frequently dismissed such suggestions. Biden also received the backing of several Democratic governors to stay in the race on Wednesday, including California's Gavin Newsom and Michigan's Gretchen Whitmer.

Biden is reported to have joined a Zoom call with campaign and Democratic National Committee staff on Wednesday to declare "no one's pushing me out. I'm not leaving." The same day, Biden sent a campaign email out acknowledging that the past few days had been "tough" before adding: "Let me say this as clearly and simply as I can: I'm running."

Several MAGA followers have mocked Biden for still opting to remain in the White House race, suggesting he is guaranteeing a Trump victory in November.

Catturd, an influential conservative social media account with more than 2.5 million followers on X, formerly Twitter, posted "This is great news lol," while sharing a screenshot of the Biden email.

Juanita Broaddrick, a Trump supporter who alleges that former President Bill Clinton raped her in 1978, wrote: "Just what we want. It's all downhill for Joe from here on. He's a mess and Kamala's [Harris] not any better."

Far-right activist Laura Loomer added: "I'd like to take this moment to thank Joe Biden for destroying the entire Democrat Party from within."

The pro-Trump X account @sig_soto posted: "The best thing Biden has done during his presidency is staying in this race #KeepBidenOnTheBallot #TRUMP2024."

Elsewhere, Florida Representative Matt Gaetz, one of the staunchest Trump supporters in Congress, said if Biden does withdraw from the race, then "his entire legacy will be that after the worst drubbing in presidential debate history, he had to tuck his tail between his legs and scamper off in utter and complete defeat to Donald Trump."

Biden's office has been contacted for comment via email.

Biden received a major boost in his 2024 election bid after he received the support of several governors following a White House meeting on Wednesday, including from those seen as the president's potential replacement.

"Joe Biden is our nominee. He is in it to win it and I support him," Whitmer posted.

Newsom wrote: "I heard three words from the President tonight—he's all in. And so am I. Joe Biden has had our back. Now it's time to have his."

Trump's campaign team also issued a statement on Wednesday attacking the "total collapse" of the Democratic Party amid speculation Biden could be replaced as the party's 2024 nominee.

"Every Democrat who is calling on Crooked Joe Biden to quit was once a supporter of Biden and his failed policies that lead to extreme inflation, an open border, and chaos at home and abroad," Trump campaign advisers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles said.

"Make no mistake that Democrats, the mainstream media, and the swamp colluded to hide the truth from the American public—Joe Biden is weak, failed, dishonest, and not fit for the White House. Every one of them has lied about Joe Biden's cognitive state and supported his disastrous policies over the past four years, especially Cackling Co-pilot Kamala Harris."
