Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie (2024) Mat Brunet Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie is not just the worst SpongeBob movie, but it’s also one of the worst animated films you can find on Netflix, and one of the worst things to feature SpongeBob.

Kronk's New Groove (2005) Mat Brunet I think it’s safe to say that this movie is not getting a thumbs up from me.

Despicable Me 4 (2024) Mat Brunet When it comes to Despicable Me’s fourth movie, I won’t call this great. I won’t even call this the best of the film series, but I won’t say that I felt tired of it after watching this either.

Ultraman: Rising (2024) Mat Brunet Ultraman may have learned the balance of parenthood, but his balance on making a movie like this one has some room for improvement.

Inside Out 2 (2024) Mat Brunet Inside Out 2 is not only a worthy sequel to its predecessor, but a fantastic animated feature that will leave you and your emotions satisfied.

The Powerpuff Girls Movie (2002) Mat Brunet I know this is meant to show the first time they fight crime, but their movie is not among their greatest moments. Then again, I cannot say that I didn’t have a bit of fun watching this either.

Jim Henson Idea Man (2024) Mat Brunet You don't get to learn about literally everything that happened in Jim Henson's life, but this is still a great documentary nonetheless, and it is still worth watching.

Thelma the Unicorn (2024) Mat Brunet I don’t think there’s enough paint and glitter to help save this movie.

The Garfield Movie (2024) Mat Brunet This feels exactly like reading the comics. You look at the strip of the day, maybe get a little giggle out of it and move on to whatever you were doing with a strong chance that you’ll quickly forget about it.

The Triplets of Belleville (2003) Mat Brunet Animated films that don’t depend on dialogue are rare to find nowadays. But when they do show up, they can deliver something amazing, and this movie is a shining example of that.

Beavis and Butt-head Do America (1996) Mat Brunet It's funny how something so stupid can also be pretty clever at the same time.

S.O.B. (1981) Mat Brunet In this age of studios making stupid money-losing mistakes and increasing amount of box office bombs, S.O.B. is one of the few movies made in Hollywood that isn’t afraid to call out what is wrong with the Hollywood system and its lack of human decency. I

Kung Fu Panda 4 (2024) Mat Brunet In a way, it’s like if Kung Fu Panda lost a bit of its soul and it was reduced to a popcorn flick. That’s not a bad thing and you can still have fun with it. It’s just that you won’t get that lost-lasting impact that the previous three had.

Your Name (2016) Mat Brunet As much as it is very well done, I don’t think it’s worth putting it up on such a high pedestal on par with the works of Hayao Miyazaki. Your Name is good, but for me, it's not worthy of breaking Spirited Away’s record good.

Shark Tale (2004) Mat Brunet Out of all of the movies by DreamWorks Animation, I’d place Shark Tale among the weakest features they’ve made. If not, then THE worst.

Orion and the Dark (2024) Mat Brunet This is the best new IP from DreamWorks Animation in recent years alongside The Bad Guys.

The Tiger's Apprentice (2024) Mat Brunet The Tiger’s Apprentice succeeds at creatively turning Chinese mythology into its own action-packed world, but fails to adapt that into its own animated feature.

Saludos Amigos (1942) Mat Brunet There definitely is a lot of history to be found in Saludos Amigos, but hard to say that there’s much else beyond that.

Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget (2023) Mat Brunet Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget only holds a fraction of what made the original animated feature great, while the rest is a disappointingly forgettable and unoriginal film.

Migration (2023) Mat Brunet Yes, Migration is the generic animated family-friendly film, but it also self-aware about it. It knows it's just simple kids’ entertainment. And if that’s what you want, then you know that these ducks will deliver.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever (2023) Mat Brunet I'm genuinely surprised that this actually came out kind of pretty good.

The Boy and the Heron (2023) Mat Brunet I’d hesitate to place this among the best of Studio Ghibli, but it’s great to see Hayao Miyazaki back.

Yu-Gi-Oh! (2004) Mat Brunet I find it to be enjoyable not as an action-packed and immersive anime filled with cool monsters battling each other, but as this mindless cheesy movie where you can turn off your brain and just have fun with the goofiness of the situations and the acting.

Leo (2023) Mat Brunet I can confidently say that this is the best animated film featuring Adam Sandler yet. I know that bar was set pretty low beforehand and this still isn’t all that great, but having that title is worth something.

Under the Boardwalk (2023) Mat Brunet For a movie that the studio tried to neglect in the hopes that no one would notice its existence, this was unexpectedly good.

Wish (2023) Mat Brunet Wish may not be the grand spectacle for the studio’s 100th anniversary, but it is still an enjoyable and enchanting feature that serves as a throwback to their classic era.

Trolls Band Together (2023) Mat Brunet You know, I never hated DreamWorks’ Trolls. [...] This time, however, I’m just done [...] I can’t even bother to give it credit for the few good things it did. I feel like this movie caused the franchise to overstay its welcome.

PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie (2023) Mat Brunet Did I have a good time with this film as much as I did with the first? Honestly, no. But this is not a movie that’s created for people like me in mind...So, the real question is, will THEY [the children] enjoy this movie? In that regard, I think yes.

The Pebble and the Penguin (1995) Mat Brunet I think it’s safe to say that this is not among Don Bluth’s greatest achievements. And yet, I’d also say that he’s done far worse than this film.

The Monkey King (2023) Mat Brunet Netflix’s 2023 version of The Monkey King takes the classic Chinese tale and turns it into an annoying and stale animated kids’ film.

Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir, The Movie (2023) Mat Brunet When you take the iconography out of the equation, Miraculous: Ladybug and Cat Noir, The Movie is just another boring superhero family film, only with more songs and romance that don’t do much to enhance the experience.

The Secret of NIMH 2: Timmy to the Rescue (1998) Mat Brunet The Secret of NIMH 2: Timmy to the Rescue is one of the worst examples of what happens when a movie gets a sequel without the involvement of the original filmmakers.

Chickenhare and the Hamster of Darkness (2022) Mat Brunet Chickenhare and the Hamster of Darkness is the ultimate mixed bag where the quality of its elements are the polar opposites to one another where there are some things that are amazing and there are others that are terrible.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) Mat Brunet Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is one of the greatest animated sequels where it takes what made the original highly praised, and elevate it into one of the biggest love letters to Spider-Man.

The Little Mermaid (2023) Mat Brunet Is this movie anywhere near as good as the 1989 animated film? Absolutely not. However, this is also not the disaster that some may expect. For what it did on its own, it’s not bad.

The Land Before Time (1988) Mat Brunet Before all the sequels and the dozens of episodes of the TV show, it was just a simple story of five young dinosaurs on a journey to a promised land, and that’s all you need for a heartfelt picture.

The Magician's Elephant (2023) Mat Brunet The Magician’s Elephant is a lost potential that took something that could’ve been a timeless fairy tale and poorly handled the adaptation process by turning it into a mediocre and forgettably dated film.

Coonskin (1975) Mat Brunet Out of all of his films, Ralph Bakshi himself considers Coonskin to be his greatest work, and I couldn’t agree more.

The Fox and the Hound (1981) Mat Brunet Sometimes, all you need to make a movie is two characters from opposing backgrounds forming an unlikely bond. It’s not enough to make a great Disney movie, but it still gets the job done.
