Recommended to me and glad I watched it. The telling of a story I was not familiar with. Was a departure from Guy Ritchie’s well known style but that wasn’t an issue. A good cast who performed well.

nothing gets 5 star... because nothing is 'perfect' this gets 4.5 because its pretty damn excellent. i watched it earlier in the week, but fell asleep. i knew it wasn't necessarily the film's fault... so re-running it now. i'm TOTALLY LOVING IT. to say its a 'stretch' from a "true story" is like saying ditto about the dam busters/a bridge too far/telemark/valkyrie... its closeness to the truth is enough for me 99.5% - obvs not 100% :-) casting is immaculate, as is filming/cinematography. SIR guy ritchie should be on the cards

Refreshingly entertaining! An action film wonderfully cast and written. Henry Cavill has nailed it again and the female lead was an amazing mixture of feminine class, wit, and mental strength.

As this was based on fact, I felt it was an insult to the bravery and daring of the WW ll participants who executed the events. Should be enjoyable to the double digit IQ crowd.

Dull, dull, dull. Overly drawn out, badly scripted dross that looks like it was made by a student.

Not a good film. Really weird scenes that didn't make any sense. Alot of weird quotes that the screenwriter wanted to put into the film that didn't really match. All characters sounded the same. Literally in every scene there was something odd. Alot of references to inglourious basterds, but I find it more insulting than flattery. Just badly written. And man is Til Schweiger a bad actor.

I unapologetically loved this movie from beginning to the end.

Couldn't get past the first twenty minutes. The accents are awful and the acting feels... Stilted? I love Henry Cavill and Alan Ritchson, but somehow the writers managed to make them both come across as though they couldn't act! An awesome story I'm sure, but if the performances themselves drag me out of the action, I can't really get immersed in the plot!

This is absolute drivel. Based on a true story, allegedly, but the truth disappeared rapidly. Bows and arrows? Grinning immortals, killing hundreds without getting a scratch? A disaster of a movie. I couldn't watch it through to the end. Half an hour and I was done. I felt a sense of disbelief that some reviewers gave it more than one star. If I could I'd give it minus one.

If I could give it zero stars I would. This is 'based on a book' on the lives of real heros who fought in the war. In the same way Asterix is based on the real life of Gauls and Roman soldiers. This is a 2d pantomime version of these war heros and is a complete insult to them. Go watch SAS: Rogue Heroes. And you'll see complex characters with deep flaws in amazing real life situations that helped turn the war. Not this terribly acted, terribly directed nonsense. Its drivel, a Downton abbey level of depth. What was up with Cavells laugh! I seriously think this could lose him James Bond or I seriously hope it does.

A complete utter fabrication, acting was poor, setting was poor and the facts non existent. Have a look at Wikipedia. NO CASUALITIES and we have a bow and arrow fool running around. Please Guy Ritchie fact up.

Opening scene is fantastic. That is all you get. Despite a stellar cast it immediately becomes formulaic and dull. Good guys kill a thousand bad guys with no risk, tension or danger to themselves whilst spouting unfunny one-liners. Somehow made an interesting historical raid boring and predictable. Go watch SAS Rogue Heroes instead.

Does what it says on the tin, entertaining take on a historical mission. The film manages a great mix of leaving you highly respectful of the people that carried out this type of mission while also entertaining. There's a very fine line with this type of film between respecting the bravery of the real life characters whilst also not taking itself too seriously. This is a brave endeavour by guy and I felt he got the balance as good as anyone could.

Historical accuracy is almost non-existent in this movie, but with that in mind it can be an enjoyable ride.

For anyone that likes a great action movie mixed with a comedy movie, there is arguably nothing better. Highly recommend and makes sense why it’s so highly rated by audiences!

I had fallen, after a knee replacement and was stuck on the floor for an hour....and this movie came on. Couldn't get the remote, lol, and it was brutal. Sorry, don't like violence just for the sake of violence... and the acting wasn't the best. When I was finally able to check the title, I saw it was on my watch list. Guess I save myself time since I turned it off as soon as I was able to. I'm sure alot of people will like it because of the violence and action. Just not for me.
