People don't always know where their food comes from, and sometimes there is a rotten underworld involved in food production. This series exposes the corruption, waste and real dangers behind everyday eating habits in a world where global supply chains are increasingly intertwined and consolidated. Episodes dig deep into the largest food fraud investigation -- looking into a scam called Honeygate -- and the challenges farmers and chefs face as the number of people with food allergies continues to rise. Sophie Gilbert The Atlantic Rotten has its structural flaws as entertainment, but it's hard to imagine any viewer not being compelled to check grocery labels more carefully in the future. Jan 12, 2018 Full Review Steve Greene indieWire Like the best documentary efforts, it puts forth these stories with the idea that a more informed audience is a healthier one. Rated: B+ Jan 8, 2018 Full Review Wil Fulton Thrillist This is not a food series designed to make you salivate. There are no slow-mo tracking shots of braising while some French chef you've never heard of waxes poetic about the intrinsic joys of duck confit. Jun 29, 2018 Full Review Audra Schroeder The Daily Dot Though it's being pushed as true-crime, Rotten remains an educational volume, and perhaps one we need right now. Rated: 3/5 Jan 11, 2018 Full Review Meghan O'Keefe Decider Difficult at first, Rotten soon becomes a riveting watch. Jan 10, 2018 Full Review Christopher Campbell Nonfics As a whole, Rotten doesn't stink, but fitting to its title, it's not that fresh or appetizing either. Jan 7, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member I've seen a ton of ghost, ufo and creature shows and feel it's always the same thing. Helier take an authentic approach with out of the box methods that leaves me wanting more. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member very weak and populistic talks Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I found this series very informative. There were issues in this series, that I feel is buried in the media, is something people should know about. Each episode is a different story, and issue. I think that this is one of the better series on Netflix. I hope that this series gets renewed. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Impressed with the grassroots efforts demonstrsted by individuals featured in this docuseries. 👍🏽 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review skye b Very critical information for EVERYBODY who eats food!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member very biased documentary. Very much Anti-China. Particularly didn't like the episode about Garlic. I found Avrum to be rather greedy people who were out to gain something for little work. If you actually focussed on your farming instead of these ridiculous cases maybe your farm wouldn't be in trouble...your cause was not high and mighty/righteous...it was selfish and greedy to begin with. It's a bit naive of them to think otherwise anyway. Why would any lawyer be so actively trying to take down a company. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
