Gutter Guards America review 2024

Gutter Guards America offers quality micro-mesh gutter guard installations in four states.
Pros
  • Offers high-quality stainless steel, micro-mesh gutter guards
  • Provides an impressive suite of additional gutter services
  • Has both a manufacturer's and workmanship warranty
Cons
  • Does not offer pricing information on its website
  • Operates in a limited service area of four states
  • Has poor communication for scheduling installations

Gutter Guards America is a newcomer to the gutter guard industry but has already garnered an impressive reputation for high-quality products and customer service. Founded by father-son duo Jeff and Daniel Natoce in 2019, Gutter Guards America offers installation of micro-mesh gutter guards, as well as other gutter services, within a limited service area of four states.

Quantity does not always equal quality, and national brands may not provide the best products and customer service. Sometimes, the better option is to choose a smaller, local company like Gutter Guards America that can offer you a level of personal attention.

Assessing the quality of a smaller brand can be more difficult. Smaller companies often have less of an online presence, with fewer customer reviews and key quality indicators. Gutter Guards America has a single review on the Better Business Bureau and more than 500 reviews on Trustpilot.

For this Gutter Guards America review, we researched the company’s products, services and reputation. We read available customer reviews and surveyed just under 240 of its customers to gather information on its prices and performance. Below, we’ll present our findings and explain how Gutter Guards America compares to other best gutter guard providers.

Our thoughts on Gutter Guards America

Overall, we consider Gutter Guards America to be an example of quality over quantity. While Gutter Guards America reviews are limited online, most existing customer reviews praise its guard performance, and our survey results reinforce this sentiment. It provides a high-quality micro-mesh gutter guard alongside gutter cleaning, repair and installation. However, it has a limited service area and lacks information on its website.

We awarded Gutter Guards America 4.6 out of 5 stars in our rating and review standards. It earned full points for its gutter guard style, filter material and suite of additional services. It lost points for not providing multiple color options.

What we like

We like Gutter Guards America’s high-quality products, additional service selection, customer service and low price point compared to other professional gutter guard installers.

Gutter Guards America uses a stainless steel micro-mesh. We have tested other micro-mesh gutter guards and determined this is one of the highest-quality designs available. Gutter Guards America’s guard uses a ridged screen for better debris filtration and has an aluminum frame, which holds up better than products made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

Gutter Guards America also offers a full suite of additional gutter services, including downspout installation, gutter repair and replacement, and cleaning services. Gutter Guards America also provides seamless aluminum gutter installation.

We analyzed available Gutter Guards America customer reviews and our survey results and found that its customers are generally pleased with its performance. Its Trustpilot page shows that 88% of reviews are 4 or 5 stars. Our survey results indicated that only one out of 237 customers was dissatisfied with the performance of its products, and only two were dissatisfied with the installation quality.

What we don’t like

Gutter Guards America has two major areas of improvement: communication and product transparency.

While most customers praise Gutter Guards America for its products and the competency of its crew, one consistent complaint is in regards to inconsistent communication and scheduling. This issue is the most common criticism we observed when reading customer reviews on Trustpilot. Additionally, three of our survey respondents noted that the installation team was hours late.

Like many gutter guard companies, Gutter Guards America does not provide much information about its pricing or warranty on its website. Its website is devoid of general cost information and doesn’t feature a cost estimation tool for homeowners.

Its warranty section is vague, claiming that it offers a lifetime transferable warranty, a no-clog guarantee and a workmanship warranty. Each of these claims is impressive, and few companies offer a workmanship warranty. However, it is difficult to assess the value of these warranties without knowing more about the terms, conditions and specific coverages.

Compare top gutter guard brands

Gutter Guards America holds its own against its national competitors thanks to the design of its screen. Its micro-mesh screen is comparable to other professional brands such as LeafFilter, All American Gutter Protection and Homecraft. Gutter Guards America gutter guard type

Gutter Guards America sells one guard type: its stainless steel micro-mesh screen. This guard has the following features:

  • Aluminum base
  • Galvanized steel frame
  • Reinforcing substructure
  • “S”-flow micro-mesh screen designed to capture more water and divert debris buildup

We tested DIY gutter guards firsthand and found that micro-mesh screens are generally the best performing gutter guards. The micro-mesh guards we tested blocked the most debris, promoted efficient water flow and were the easiest to clean. Micro-mesh gutter guards, like those offered by Gutter Guards America, block materials such as pine needles, shingle grit and seedpods while filtering water efficiently, even in heavy rain

Cost

We surveyed more than 1,500 customers of the most popular gutter guard companies in the United States to determine the average cost of gutter guard installations per provider. Gutter Guards America was one of the companies we surveyed, receiving responses from 237 customers. According to our survey results, the average cost for a 200-linear-foot gutter guard installation from Gutter Guards America is just over $3,545.73, or $17.73 per linear foot.

This price is low compared to the other professionally installed companies we surveyed; in fact, it was the least expensive company across the board. Gutter Guards America’s average price was nearly $1,000 less than LeafFilter and $500 less than LeafGuard for 200-linear-foot gutter guard installations.

Warranty options

Gutter Guards America offers a transferable lifetime warranty for the materials of the gutter guard system alongside a one-year workmanship warranty. It also provides a no-clog guarantee.

According to its website, the warranty states, “Under this warranty, we guarantee that the quality and workmanship of our services will meet your highest standards. Should you encounter any issues within the warranty period, our dedicated team of professionals is just a call away, ready to address and resolve them promptly and efficiently.”

While this is a promising claim, we would have liked more transparent information on its site, such as an informational sheet with specific details on the warranties’ terms, conditions and coverages.

Customer thoughts

Customer reviews for Gutters Guards America are sparse but positive overall. It has an A+ rating on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) but has only one BBB review with no comments. Its Trustpilot page has more than 500 reviews, 88% of which are 4- to 5-star reviews. Only 7% of its Trustpilot reviews are 1 to 2 stars at the time of writing.

Most reviews praise Gutter Guards America for its product quality and the professionalism of its staff. One review we read from Grant shows how Gutter Guards America’s representatives and management go above and beyond for customers, with the production manager providing their cellphone number in case any issues arise. Another common theme amongst happy customers was the promptness and efficiency of the installation teams, as mentioned in this review by Nancy

The most common customer complaint we observed is that Gutter Guards America has issues with punctuality and communication. This review by David is a good example: He was given a specific arrival time, and the installation team showed up hours late without notifying him about the delay in advance. We read a review from John, who mentioned having three separate installation dates, none of which were met.

However, we observed that even negative reviews often praised the quality of Gutter Guards America’s product and installers. Its team also responded to nearly every review on Trustpilot.

How easy are Gutter Guards America’s gutter guards to maintain and clean?

Micro-mesh gutter guards are typically the easiest type to clean. This easy maintenance is especially true for professionally installed products that feature a built-in pitch, such as Gutter Guards America. When we tested other micro-mesh brands, such as LeafFilter and Raptor, we noticed that only a light application of water or a soft-bristle brush was needed to clean them, even when they were exposed to heavy debris.

We found a single Trustpilot review that highlighted clogging issues. In this review, Dan noted that his guards were clogged with sweetgum tree seeds and shingle grit. This complaint isn’t surprising, as sweetgum seeds have a barbed skin that may be able to snag on the mesh screen.

Some material will collect on top of any micro-mesh guard and will need to be occasionally cleaned off. No gutter guard can completely remove the need for regular gutter cleaning and maintenance. However, a high-quality guard can keep out most debris and make cleaning easier and less frequent.

What is the installation process with Gutter Guards America?

To work with Gutter Guards America, reach out to its customer service team by calling or filling out an online form. A representative will set up an appointment for an in-person inspection to provide you with a free quote.

On inspection day, a Gutter Guards America sales representative will come to your home and conduct a full inspection. They’ll look for anything that can impact the total cost of your gutter guard installation, such as roof pitch, the number of stories on your home, the condition of your gutters and even your home’s landscaping.

Once the inspection is complete, the representative will generate a free quote and present a sales pitch for Gutter Guards America’s products and services. Negotiations and discount applications are common at this stage of the process.

If you agree to the quoted price, the sales representative will set an installation date. On that day, a crew will arrive, clean your existing gutters, make any needed repairs and install your gutter guard system. They’ll clean up remaining debris, answer any questions you have and depart.

Final take: Gutter Guards America offers great guard performance in a small service area

We’re impressed by the quality micro-mesh gutter guard offerings and wide range of services provided by Gutter Guards America. While this company is a relative newcomer to the gutter guard industry, it has already proven itself to be a viable option within its service area with strong customer reviews and a competitive price tag.

However, it only operates within Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio and South Carolina, so its services may not be available to you. If you live in a location serviced by Gutters Guards America and are interested in its services, schedule an inspection to receive a free quote.
