[Wes] Let's go! We gotta go, we gotta go.

Okay.

[Wes] I feel like that's an iconic thing

we're witnessing right now.

[smooth music]

So I'm getting ready for my first Met Gala

and I'm being dressed by Carolina Herrera.

Wes Gordon designed my dress.

It's a beautiful dress. I'm very excited.

The day has come. We're almost ready.

So we were fitting till the wee hours in the morning

'cause we were waiting for the final dress to be done

and we finally got to see the magic on.

And when she put on the cape last night,

it was just so breathtaking.

She's so nice, she's so fun.

I was a huge fan before,

and I'm gonna leave this experience an even bigger fan.

She arrived yesterday and it's been a whirlwind.

Okay. I don't know, earrings?

Like a stud?

It's too much. Maybe not, okay.

The shoes, they dyed them.

They came out the wrong color,

so they're like emergency re-dying everything

just to make sure we get the perfect monochromatic look.

For the look tonight,

we love the texture on the painting Birth of Venus,

which is like whimsical with soft waves

but also very Shakira.

We don't wanna lose that essence.

This is supposed to make my lips bigger. [laughs]

I'm waiting! I'm waiting!

Today, this gala has a lot to do with female empowerment,

female strength, female resilience, and female beauty,

so today I feel like a rose,

because that's what [laughs] the designer intended.

So the dress itself

is a super clean architectural column dress

on her body as the stem

and then surrounding her by the blossom of the rose.

Wes asked me what color I wanted to be in

and I pictured myself in red.

It's kind of the color of Shakira.

I mean, red is passion, it's strength,

it's this kind of Latin fire.

It's, you know, all things fabulous and glamorous

that she embodies.

[smooth music continues]

And then for jewelry,

we're working with this beautiful 1965 brooch

from Cartier Paris

that is from their Patrimoine collection,

and it has this beautiful Burmese ruby in the center

and kind of baguette diamonds around.

[Wes] I won't break your jewelry

if you don't break my dress.

[Staffer] No, no, no! We need to!

[Wes] Now we need to go

so people can get pictures of it.

[smooth music] [staffers chattering]

Okay!

Okay, wow, you guys.

Thank you.

Am I getting in the car with this?

[Wes] We're standing the whole way.

Let's go.

[Wes] We gotta go, we gotta go, we gotta go.
