With us now is Sam Smith and Christian Cowan.

What a pleasure to be with you, really!

And so lovely to see you together.

How special is it for you tonight

to be here at the Met together?

Unbelievably, honestly, this is my first Met,

and this is Christian's first Met too.

[hosts squealing]

[Ashley] Baby Metters!

Super Bowl of fashion.

So, what is it that you're most anticipating

after the carpet?

A glass of champagne.

Oh, okay. Yeah.

And to not stand as straight

'cause I've gotta stand straight.

We're all standing straight tonight, darling.

I'm excited the exhibition,

I'm excited to be inside.

No one ever sees inside.

Christian, did you make

both of these amazing outfits?

I made both of these looks, yes.

Can you talk to us a little bit

about the inspiration and your direction?

Well, because it's about meant to be about Back in Time,

we wanted something that kind of referenced 1940s tailoring.

Oscar Wilde, the queer icon.

We're both queer and British,

so an English rose I thought was perfect.

And early on in our days, I gave Sam a metal plated rose.

[Ashley] Are you serious?

So, it's a nod to that moment.

It's so romantic!

Can you post that on Stories

so we can all see it, please?

Oh, you guys are both so sensational.

And can I ask, what are you most excited

or what would you like to see for the future of fashion?

Ooh...

Clothes in my sizes in stores.

Thank you! Yes!

And just to be able to go into Sharps, anywhere,

and be able to wear the girls' clothes.

Preach. Yes.

Preach, preach, preach, preach, preach.

Anyone to be able to wear anyone's clothes.

Honestly the idea of a men's and a women's section--

Yes! I would love that.

Yes! Oh, I love the two of you,

I love you together.

I love this is your first Met.

Save me a glass of champagne?

We will.

I'm gonna see both of you.

I need a canape, too.

Okay, great.

I can't wait to dance the night away.

Oh, love you both.

So great to see you at this wonderful Met Gala.

Really, really! Thank you.
