Clueless star Stacey Dash defended her Twitter endorsement of Mitt Romney yesterday on CNN’s Piers Morning Tonight after receiving extreme backlash on social media.

The former Single Ladies actress said, “I really don’t understand the fury. … But you know what, you can’t expect everyone to agree with you.”

Dash said she was “saddened and really shocked” by the racially charged firestorm, which included tweets such as “You’re an unemployed black woman endorsing Mitt Romney. You’re voting against yourself thrice, you poor beautiful idiot.” Even actor Samuel L. Jackson tweeted his disdain for Dash’s comment. Dash, who voted for Obama in 2008, said Romney and his wife Ann “spoke to [her]” and seemed authentic and genuine during their Meet the Press interview. She said vice presidential contender Paul Ryan even called her last week to thank her for her bravery and support.
