We've proudly supported Good Things Foundation for almost two years, as the first UK bank to bring the National Databank Programme to all 91 of our Stores and into our Banking Hubs. Research by the Centre for Social Justice revealed that people who are digitally excluded could pay on average 25% more for goods and services than those who can shop around online. Today we’ve announced our results for the third quarter of 2024. We’ve maintained good progress as we ready ourselves for the next phase of our future. Some key headlines 👇   👉 Lending was slightly lower in the quarter as we continued our disciplined approach in mortgages to protect spreads, and business lending was lower due to seasonality but with a continued strong pipeline. 👉 We delivered growth in both unsecured lending and deposits in the quarter and continue to expect growth across target lending segments for FY24. 👉 Asset quality remains solid and arrears trends stabilised during the quarter, with a reduction in credit card arrears. Laura Banks has worked with Virgin Money for over 20 years. In 2017 Laura was diagnosed with Undifferentiated Inflammatory Arthritis, an autoimmune condition attacking the joints in the body, causing pain, inflammation, and fatigue. Laura’s life changed almost overnight. ‘It took me a long time to be able to call myself disabled, and I think it was for a couple of reasons.  Firstly, I didn’t want to admit that I wasn’t going to get better, and secondly, I didn’t want people’s opinion or perception of me to change because of my disability. Disability Pride and the Enable Network are so important to me because there is still a huge stigma around disability. It’s not always easy to share your health issues with lots of people, but my hope is that sharing my story will encourage other people to feel safe to disclose their own disability and advocate for their needs without fear of marginalisation or discrimination.’ We all have different needs during our working lives, including disabilities and ill health. ‘There’s always a bit of a myth that you can get past voice biometrics’ We sat down with Gareth Pindred and Andrew Castle our Fraud and Financial Crime experts here at Virgin Money to talk all things AI. AI-enabled fraud is a live threat. It enables fraudsters to impersonate known organisations or even people we know with ease, through enhanced email phishing attacks, voice spoofing or creating convincing Deepfakes. Deepfake technology has been used to impersonate well known individuals and could make it easier to socially engineer customers into sharing personal or banking information. Look out for tell-tale signs of deepfakes like bad lip syncing, unusual blinking, blurry edges, or bad rendering. But AI can be used to our advantage. We are constantly reviewing the latest AI enabled fraud tech to enhance our detection and prevention controls.  #VirginMoney #Fraud #FinanicalCrime
