In the clip, which has so far been viewed more than 3.8 million times, John began: 'If y'all want to keep all the flies out of your house this summer, stick with me...
'Today, I'm gonna teach you how to make a solution that you can put outside of your door - like on the doorstep or even in a plant right outside your door.
'It should attract the flies to go there rather than coming in your house at all in the first place.
'All you're gonna need is some water and some sugar.'
He continued: 'So what you're gonna do is, you're gonna make a solution that has two parts water, one part sugar.'
The content creator then poured the ingredients into a bowl and stirred together with a spoon before placing it outside his home.
'The sugar that you just put in there is gonna be what attracts them,' John said.
'And then once they land in the water, they won't be able to take back off, and they're gonna die in there.
'So that should prevent them from even coming into [your home] in the first place.'
