Former employee brands Rudy Giuliani a 'sexist sexual predator and abuser' in $3.1M lawsuit - claims he demanded sex, fired her and then threatened her to keep quiet

A former employee of Rudy Giuliani has filed a $3.1 million sexual harassment lawsuit against him claiming he abused her while she endured toxic work conditions. 

Noelle Dunphy, a writer and business consultant who worked for Giuliani starting in 2019, said the two had a romantic relationship, but alleged that things changed when he began abusing alcohol and demanding sexual favors from her, the Daily Beast reports.  

In her suit filed on Wednesday in New York Supreme Court, Dunphy wrote: 'Rudolph W. Giuliani, the former US Attorney, once hailed as 'America's Mayor,' is a sexist sexual predator and abuser.'

She also claimed that he made racist and bigoted remarks in his office and threatened her to keep quiet by bringing up his ties to former President Donald Trump.

Dunphy filed a $3.1 million suit against the former New York City Mayor, claiming he also created a toxic work environment and threatened her when she tried to speak out 

According to the lawsuit, Dunphy, who is representing herself, began working for Giuliani after he retained her for 'business development work and other work' in January 2019. 

'It began with Rudy as my boss and lawyer and later turned romantic,' Dunphy told the Daily Beast. 

She said during that time Giuliani offered his legal advice to help her 'achieve justice' over the abuse she suffered earlier in her life. 

Instead of legal advice, however, the lawsuit claimed Giuliani would get 'frequently intoxicated while discussing matters of law, and he leveraged his counsel to pressure her for sexual quid-pro-quos during lawyer-client consultations. 

'As a result of Giuliani's legal malpractice, [Dunphy] was re-victimized, re-victimized, retraumatized, left without legal redress, and substantially worse off than before Giuliani agreed to represent her in hopes of securing justice against an abuse,' the lawsuit states. 

'Instead, Giuliani leveraged the traumatic details of [Dunphy's] prior victimization to fulfill his morally bankrupt sexual compulsions and fetishes.' 

Giuliani's lawyer, Robert Costello, said his client denied the allegations and said that Dunphy was never an employee of the former New York City mayor. 

'These are libelous allegations drafted by an individual with no lawyer because no lawyer would associate themselves with this nonsense,' the lawyer said in a statement.

Dunphy said rather than providing legal insight for a case of abuse she had suffered, Giuliani made her a victim again by demanding sexual favors in exchange for his aid

Along with the sexual harassment claims, Dunphy alleged that Giuliani created a toxic work environment fueled by heavy drinking. 

'Despite attempting to cultivate a public image of himself as 'America's Mayor,' Giuliani frequently made racist, bigoted, anti-Semitic, anti-LGBTQ, and misogynistic remarks, often during confused and hostile alcohol-laced tirades, further reinforcing the toxicity of the workplace operating under his direction, adding to the chronic and pervasive violations of applicable New York State and New York City laws prohibiting discrimination in the workplace,' the suit states. 

The suit also claimed that Giuliani would start drinking alcohol first thing in the morning and kept drinking throughout the day, which was 'affecting his behavior as [Dunphy's] boss and lawyer.' 

Then in 2021, after she was allegedly subjected to more sexual harassment, Dunphy said Giuliani fired her without reason and failed to pay her for the work she had done. 

Even though she agreed to 'be an off-the-books, secret employee,' she told the Daily Beast she had hard evidence regarding her allegations of non-payment and a toxic work environment. 

When she complained, the lawsuit claims that Giuliani threatened her to keep her quiet. 

'At these times, Giuliani threatened [Dunphy] with further retaliation if she did not stay silent, stating that his private investigators and political connections to President Trump enabled him to retaliate in other ways, express and implied,' she wrote in the suit.  

Dunphy also accused Giuliani of creating a toxic work environment, saying he was often drunk and made racist and bigoted remarks in his office 

Giuliani has denied all the allegations and claimed Dunphy never worked for him

Dunphy ultimately claims that the alcohol abuse was spurred by Giuliani's divorce from his third ex-wife Judith, and his mounting political and legal controversies during the final years of the Trump administration. 

According to her website and LinkedIn, Dunphy is a writer and business development consultant who previously worked for an ABC news station in Rhode Island. 

She touts her shift into politics by working at events with Trump, Giuliani, the Clintons, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, and a slew of other former politicians. 

Her blog also includes plenty of pictures of her together with Giuliani, posing at events between 2017 and 2020.
