Crown Melbourne: How a man with expensive taste distracted a female bottle shop worker before allegedly grabbing Johnnie Walker Masters of Flavour worth $62,000

A man has distracted a staff member and allegedly stolen a very rare $62,000 bottle of whisky from an inner-city liquor store. 

The alleged incident occurred when the man entered the liquor store at Crown Melbourne off Whiteman St in Southbank, Melbourne at about 5.20pm on May 22.

The man engaged the female staff member in conversation and asked to look at a number of bottles of alcohol

While she turned to get the bottles, the man allegedly took a bottle of limited-edition Johnnie Walker Masters of Flavour from the shelf.  

Police allege he hid the bottle down the front of his shorts and left the store.  

The bottle of Johnnie Walker Masters of Flavour has a retail value of $62,000. 

Police have released CCTV and images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their investigation. 

Victoria Police told Daily Mail Australia the alleged thief is yet to be apprehended.
