Democrat slugs back 'vodka cran' at popular D.C. bar after making damning admission about Biden's reelection chances

A Democratic Senator facing a brutally tough reelection fight this cycle was spotted solo at a bar with a bright red cocktail looking distant as his party turmoils over Joe Biden.

Montana Sen. Jon Tester knocked back a 'vodka cran' alone on Tuesday evening at the French restaurant Bistro Cacao just blocks away from the Senate office buildings, sources told the Daily Caller

Reports indicate the photo must have been snapped within hours of him privately venting to his Senate colleagues that he does not believe the 81-year-old Biden can defeat Donald Trump in November.

He said in a public statement that Biden must 'prove to the American people – including me – that he's up to the job for another four years.'

This is of particular concern for Tester, 67, who first took office in 2007 and is down in most polls to Montana Navy SEAL-turned-aerospace executive Tim Sheehy - who will be 37 on election day come November.

Currently RealClearPolitics (RCP) has the ex-SEAL Sheehy polling with an average 1.5 point lead over incumbent Tester.

Since Joe Biden's horrible debate performance against Donald Trump nearly two weeks ago, Democrats have been frantically figuring out their message and whether they stick with aging Joe or dump him for someone younger.

And back in Montana, that's an issue for Tester.

The state is splitting for former President Donald Trump by a massive margin.

Trump is up in the state by a 20-point margin, according to RCP's average.

A post-debate poll, albeit a Republican one, found that Trump was up 56 percent to Biden's 36 percent.

Recent DailyMail.com polling also suggests voters are dissatisfied with older candidates.

So the Montana Republican has yet to figure out his proper messaging on how to approach whether Biden should remain in the party's top role.

On Monday, Tester said Biden has to prove 'he’s up for the job for another four years.'

During a private meeting of Democrat Senators Tuesday he conceded he does not believe Biden can beat Trump.

Sens. Michael Bennet of Colorado and Sherrod Brown of Ohio also said at the meeting they don't think Biden can win.

'Folks are making a bigger deal out of it than it is,' Tester said of Biden's age in 2023.

'But, you know, we’ll see what I’m like at 82. I doubt I’ll be running for president.'

Instead at that age maybe he will be once again bar-side enjoying a vodka cranberry.

Or perhaps he will be enjoying a red beer or Diet Pepsi, his favorite drinks according to a decade-old interview.

Either way, he and the Democrats have yet to solve their Biden dilemma.
