This is the shocking moment a gang of knife and baseball bat-wielding thugs launched a 'horror' attack on a teenager in front of horrified bystanders in a city centre before being hit with a 75 year jail sentence.

A 19-year-old man was found seriously injured with multiple stab wounds after being set upon by the yobs following a music event in Coventry.

Chilling footage of the moment shows the group chasing down their teen victim while armed with a terrifying array of weapons during the brutal attack.

The large group of eight, donning black hoodies and jackets, could be seen gathering around their victim before targeting him with their knife and weapons.

The victim was miraculously saved thanks to the quick actions delivered by members of public and emergency services who rushed to the scene at 3.30am on October 6 last year.

Detective Chief Inspector Adam Jobson, from West Midlands Police, said: 'This was extreme violence and these men have quite rightly lost their freedom.

'There's no justification for carrying a weapon and it's just sheer fortune the victim was not even more seriously injured.

'We won't accept this type of behaviour in our city and we'll continue to take action to get knives off the streets.

'We'll always look to prosecute those involved in carrying them or involved in serious violence.'
