Cavinder Twins reveal why they returned to Miami as college-basketball duo prepare to reunite on the court: 'Unfinished business'

The college basketball season may be months away from starting officially, but things down in Miami are beginning to heat up for the Cavinder Twins.

After a year away from the court, Hanna and Haley Cavinder are set to return to the University of Miami in dramatic fashion.

At the end of the 2022-23 season, the twins announced that they would be moving past their playing days and moving on to future endeavors.

But it was in October of 2023 that Haley decided to get back into basketball - committing to TCU with the intention of playing her final season in 2024-25. 

After watching her sister prepare for the season to come, Hanna decided that she wanted to get back in the game as well.

'When I made the decision to stop playing, I was excited to get more involved in the businesses and brands we are part of,' Hanna told The New York Post in an email interview. 

'But watching Haley train and get ready for the season made me realize that I wasn't ready to stop playing. 

'I love basketball and I know I won't be able to play it forever. Being with my sister is the perfect way to finish out my career.'

So not only did Hanna announce that she'd be returning to Miami for a final season, she was joined by her sister Haley - who de-committed from TCU to go back to play for the Hurricanes.

It's setting up to be a triumphant return for the twins who helped lead the 'Canes to the Elite Eight in 2023.

'We both feel like we have more to give,' Haley said. 'We want to end our college basketball careers on a high note, and we wanted to do it together. 

'The support from our coaches, teammates, and family made it clear that this was the right move for us. 

'We both knew we had unfinished business on the court and wanted to give it one more shot, together.'

Just last month, the Cavinder Twins featured on the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit runway

Hanna and Haley are both also faces of the new NIL era of college sports - earning millinos of dollars through endorsements, such as a three-year deal with sportswear giants Under Armour.

They've also featured on the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit runway in Miami just last month.

Not only have they partnered with brands, but they've also created their own - Hustle Beauty, which makes cosmetics.
