Despite Germany thrashing Scotland in their Euro 2024 opener they could have a weak link in the form of Julian Nagelsmann according to Dominic King on It's All Kicking Off.
The hosts were ruthless as they got their Group A campaign underway against Steve Clarke's men, with goals from Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala within the first 20 minutes.
Already a mammoth task, Scotland's hopes of rescuing something from the game vanished after Ryan Porteous was sent off for a horror challenge on Ilkay Gundogan.
Kai Havertz netted the subsequent spot kick to cement a commanding lead on the brink of half-time.
Second-half strikes from substitutes Niclas Fullkrug and Emre Can demonstrated Germany's strength in depth, while an own-goal from Antonio Rudiger gave the hapless Scottish fans something to shout about.
Speaking following the game King insisted Gareth Southgate is a superior manager to the former Bayern Munich coach, citing Germany's patchy defensive record in the lead-up to the finals.
King went on to suggest that Germany will 'come a cropper' later on in the tournament in spite of the attacking talents at Nagelsmann's disposal.
