Gary Lineker has claimed he 'got shafted' for his jibe that England 'were s***' against Denmark but has clarified his comments, claiming that he was referring to the game as 's***' rather than the Three Lions or Harry Kane. The BBC Match of the Day presenter has also revealed that he has not spoken to the England captain after Kane had hit back at pundits who have criticised his team, urging them to show 'responsibility'. Lineker, who has admitted that he wants nothing more than to watch England win the European Championship, was one of several football commentators and pundits to criticise Gareth Southgate's side's form during the group stages of the tournament.

Lamine Yamal's father says his son is not worried about playing against England in the Euro 2024 final on Sunday, and believes Spain will win 3-0. Speaking to ITV News in Yamal's hometown of Rocafonda, Spain, dad Mounir Nasraoui believes his son will 'leave a big mark' on the game against the Three Lions. He described the Barcelona winger as a man of 'integrity' and 'joy,' and spoke of his pride at his son becoming the youngest-ever player to appear in a European Championship.

IAN LADYMAN IN BERLIN: Gareth Southgate has probably taken more criticism than most with any kind of similar record as an international manager.  But as the England coach prepares to lead his team in to their second successive European Championship final in Berlin on Sunday, he says the dissenting voices will never deter him. Southgate's England will face Spain at the Olympiastadion trying to win their country's first men's trophy since the 1966 World Cup. Along the way, the 53-year-old has had to listen to the naysayers telling him he is a negative and limited coach holding his players back.

The German press have blasted England for 'cheating their way to the final of Euro 2024' after Gareth Southgate's side secured a dramatic late victory against the Netherlands in their semi-final on Wednesday night. It comes as one Dutch pundit has also appeared to turn on several of the Netherlands' own players, while also slamming Bukayo Saka's apparent 'handball' in the run-up to Denzel Dumfries' foul on Harry Kane. The England captain was subsequently awarded a contentious penalty, with Gary Neville blasting the decision as an 'absolute disgrace', with Kane Slotting the spot kick past Bart Verbruggen in goal to pull his side level after Xavi Simons had fired Ronald Koeman's side ahead in the opening seven minutes.

England are gearing up for a second consecutive Euros final and will hope for better fortune against Spain than they had against Italy in 2021. However, Gary Lineker has pinpointed one area where Spain could really hurt England depending on how Gareth Southgate approaches the game. The Three Lions have looked a better side since switching to three centre-backs in the quarter-final against Switzerland, having two wing-backs.

Southgate will lead the nation into the Euro 2024 showpiece in Berlin with uncertainty hanging over his future. His current deal expires in December but any decision to leave would be made well in advance with England's next set of fixtures scheduled for September. He's a kid, really. At the age of 19 years and 82 days, Mainoo became the youngest ever player to represent England in the semi-finals of a major tournament here in Dortmund on Wednesday night. Not that the accolade would have fazed this wonderfully gifted lad from Stockport. Nothing does.

So, after weeks of criticism, late goals and debates over more or less every player and their role in the team, England have reached the final of Euro 2024 after Ollie Watkins last-minute stunner sunk the Netherlands.  It was a game rife with controversy, not least the fact that the referee had previously been banned for match-fixing and England were awarded an extremely debatable penalty, but such is the game.  Now the Three Lions have won a spot in their first ever overseas final in major tournaments, Gareth Southgate's side shrugging off the monumental pressure to make a second showpiece finale in three years. 

The Three Lions progressed to the last two, where they will take on Spain on Sunday as they bid to lift their first-ever European Championship three years after they lost in the final of Euro 2020. After trailing through a Xavi Simons stunner, Harry Kane netted from the penalty spot on the back of a contentious call that involved a VAR check and was slammed by pundits and fans. Then, on the verge of full time, Ollie Watkins scored having come off the bench to send England to Sunday's final.

Deschamps' side went down 2-1 to Spain in their semi-final on Tuesday night, with Yamal (left) scoring the first of his side's goals to level up the score after Randal Kolo Muani's opener. Yamal, 16, received widespread praise for his performance and strike, helping his side to the final of the competition they won in both 2008 and 2012. He has been a sensation at Euro 2024 on the back of his performances, and has been tipped for a big future by a number of fans and pundits who have followed his progress.

Dutch hooligans have injured five England fans after a series of attacks on Dortmund bars as the Euros explodes into sickening violence. Videos have surfaced on X of swaths of people dressed in the iconic bright orange football shirts throwing stools and benches outside a local cafe ahead of the semi-final match tonight. Locals attempted to guard the cafe, with fans who chose to venture out and engage with the fracas were quickly set upon by groups Dutch supporters. It is not yet known what triggered the attack, with unconfirmed reports suggesting both sets of fans had traded insults through chant, as riot police were forced to step in to bring the situation under control.

England's glamorous WAGs descended on Germany once again as they cheered on their men to victory in the semi-final against the Netherlands. Jordan Pickford's stunning wife Megan led the way as she took to the stands once again in support of her goalkeeper husband. Wearing an England top teamed with a glamorous white and blue blazer and skirt combo, she was joined by the likes of Love Island's Dani Dyer - girlfriend of Jarrod Bowen - and Aine Kennedy, Conor Gallagher's partner.

Second-half substitute Ollie Watkins completed England's superb comeback against the Dutch with a 90th minute winner, firing the Three Lions into Sunday's Euro 2024 final with a 2-1 victory. Ex-Chelsea and Netherlands striker Hasselbaink, who works as an assistant coach for the Three Lions, was seen celebrating with Gareth Southgate and Co on the touchline at the moment Watkins' fierce strike rippled Bart Verbruggen's net.

The Three Lions will take on Spain on Sunday after beating the Netherlands 2-1 on Wednesday night, with Ollie Watkins coming off the bench to score a last-minute winner. Incredibly, he did it at the age of 16, meaning he is the youngest goalscorer in Euros history. Kylian Mbappe labelled his Euro 2024 campaign a 'failure' in the wake of France's 2-1 defeat by Spain on Tuesday, insisting he 'wasn't good' at the tournament. Footage has emerged of Spain defender Nacho shockingly shoving Randal Kolo Muani's head into the ground just seconds before the France striker scored in Tuesday's Euro 2024 semi-final. Nacho was brought into Spain's starting line-up to replace the suspended Robin Le Normand and looked to make his mark early on.  Inside the opening seven minutes, he went in for a challenge with Kolo Muani which left the Frenchman on the ground. As he went to get up, Nacho put his left hand on the back of Kolo Muani's head and slammed it into the pitch.

England manager Gareth Southgate has insisted that he has no concerns over the appointment of referee Felix Zwayer for Wednesday's Euro 2024 quarter-final against the Netherlands. It was announced by UEFA on Sunday that Felix Zwayer, 43, would officiate the match in Dortmund, despite serving a six-month ban after being found to have accepted a €300 (£253.82) bribe from fellow referee Robert Hoyzer in a 2005 scandal. Zwayer was implicated in a scandal which centred around second tier boss Hoyzer, who took bribes to fix several matches.

Alvaro Morata's wife Alice Campello has blasted Spanish media after her husband was branded as 'an embarrassment' with a 'persecution syndrome' ahead of the country's Euro 2024 semi-final with France. Morata will lead his nation out in the last four on Tuesday in Munich, but provoked a storm by suggesting he will quit international football after the tournament. The 31-year-old Atletico Madrid forward admitted it would be 'easiest' for him to move abroad because of poor treatment he has received and laid bare the effect on his family, including his wife and four young children.
