Peter drury produced on of the best pieces of commentary after Italy earned a late draw against Croatia.

The Azzurri booked their place in the last-16 of Euro 2024 thanks to substitute Mattia Zaccagni's superb strike in the eighth minute of injury-time to cancel out Luka Modric's opener.

It was one of the most dramatic moment of this year's tournament so far as Croatia were just seconds from advancing - and Drury was on top form as he dramatically called the end of the game.

Commentating for the World Service, he said: 'Salvation. The Azzurri reach for the skies and Croatia hit the turf in sorrow.

'Oh boy. The Modric marvel is undone by the zest of Zaccagni. How it must feel to be Croatian.

Drury joined Sky Sports as a football commentator last summer but also works for US station NBC Sports.

Meanwhile, Croatia's Euro 2024 future hangs in the balance, having been seconds away from advancing to the last-16.

They can still go through as one of the best third-placed sides but the chances are low as they will need favours from a number of teams including England and Turkey.
