Jeremy Renner shares an update on his recovery with clip of himself jogging for the first time since near-fatal snowplow accident
Jeremy Renner shared an update on his recovery progress on Thursday.
The 52-year-old actor — who shared he is already starting on a new renovation project last week — took to Instagram to post a video of himself exercising on an anti-gravity treadmill.
The Hawkeye star wrote over the clip: 'First attempt at a very light jog with weight assisted lift for the broken tibia'.
The Bourne Legacy alum also shared a motivational message about pushing through his difficult recovery journey: 'Pain is progress for me'.
Earlier this year, Renner survived being crushed by a 14,000 pound snowplow and suffered from major injuries — including more than 30 broken bones.

Update: Jeremy Renner, 52, shared an update on his recovery progress on Thursday
In the video, he said that jogging was 'a new exercise [and] movement I'm not used to.'
Appearing out of breath as he jogged on the treadmill, he added: 'Walking and jogging [use] very different muscle groups.'
Recently, the Bourne Legacy alum has been sharing clips of himself performing a variety of different exercises in an effort to regain full mobility after his tibia was shattered.
Over a week ago, he posted a motivational video showing the progress he has made since the accident.
In the clip, Renner was seen needing assistance as he took each step with a walker.
By the end of the video compiled by his physical therapist, he improved not only his speed and stability but was walking hands-free with added confidence.
Months earlier on New Year's Day, Renner survived being crushed by a snowplow and suffered major injuries.
In April, the Academy Award nominee made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote his documentary miniseries, Rennervations.

During the interview, he also spoke about how 'lucky' he was to survive the terrifying accident.
He revealed that it was fortunate that the machine missed the critical parts of his anatomy.
'It just missed every vertebrae, did not hit any organs, membrane did not swell,' he detailed. 'My eye did pop out — that's weird — but I got pretty lucky that none of the organs got messed up.'
The New Year's Day accident left more than 30 of Renner's bones broken, and he was hospitalized in 'critical condition' and underwent multiple surgical procedures.
