Lionel Richie, 74, has the energy of a performer half his age as he delivers the hits All Night Long in Chepstow, Wales

Lionel Richie continued on with his busy tour schedule with a show at Chepstow Racecourse in Chepstow, Wales on Friday night.

Known for his show's party atmosphere, the recent Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee delivered on that description once again, by offering up many of his timeless mega-hits and singalong classics.

The icon performed solo classics like as Say You Say Me, All Night Long and Hello, as well as songs from his days with the Commodores, who are known for tracks like Brick House, Easy and Three Times A Lady.

The venue for Friday's show in Wales — which can host up to 30,000 fans — is just the latest of the iconic musician's summer tour that will see him continue through Europe until July 8.

After heading back home for a nearly month-long break, Richie will then kick off his co-headlining tour with Earth, Wind & Fire in early August.

The Tuskegee, Alabama native, 74, hit the stage at Chepstow Racecourse looking lean and fit in black denim jeans and a matching shirt underneath a bright red sequin jacket.

He wasted little time in breaking out the first of many hit songs with Running With The Night, that's off his wildly poplar second studio album, Can't Slow Down (1983).

The track peaked at number seven on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in early 1984.

Around the same time, it also made the top 10 on the UK Singles Chart, reaching number nine.

Boasting a big beaming smile as he commanded the stage, Richie is fully aware that many of his fans come to his shows expecting to hear as many of his hit songs as humanly possible.

And during his ongoing tour he's been doing his best to meet those expectations, with set lists that include Penny Lover, Stuck On You, Endless Love, Dancing On The Ceiling, Hello, Say You, Say Me and All Night Long (All Night), which always brings down the house as an encore show closer.

Of course, there's also his earlier days drumming up the funk and soul with the Commodores with iconic songs like Easy, Brick House, Sail On, Three Times A Lady and Lady (You Bring Me Up).

Richie served as the co-lead singer, keyboardist and saxophonist with the Commodores from 1968 until his departure in 1982 to fully focus on his solo career.
