The Block has locked in its location for the 2025 series, thanks to a timely intervention by Victoria’s Planning Minister.

Initially, Channel Nine's hit renovation show was set to film this year's series in the Victorian town of Daylesford.

However, delays in obtaining the necessary building approvals forced the production to relocate to Phillip Island, according to the Herald Sun.

Planning Minister Sonya Kilkenny stepped in, giving the green light for filming to proceed in Daylesford for the 2025 series.

Executive producer Julian Cress confirmed the news on Thursday.

Daylesford is located 114km from Melbourne and its unique combination of natural beauty, historic charm, and vibrant local culture provides a stunning backdrop ideal for the reality show.

Originally, The Block had its sights set on a prime piece of land owned by Hygge Property on the outskirts of Hepburn Shire, where it planned to construct five luxurious homes for the 2024 season.

The series has previously been filmed in a range of gorgeous city and regional areas, including St Kilda, South Yarra, Prahran and Gisborne South.

Bosses typically have a location locked down by about mid-year for an upcoming season, giving them plenty of time to prepare for filming.

The latest series of the long-running renovation show is set to premiere after the Olympics.

Nine has confirmed that only five teams will be competing to convert five properties on the former Island Cove Villas on Phillip Island, Victoria.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal a Channel Nine-owned company purchased Island Cove Villas for a whopping $9.5million.

Situated two-and-a-half hours from Melbourne, the site currently features nine homes, a communal pool, a BBQ pavilion, tennis court and a children's playground.

In May, the series was rocked by a shock exit after Neale Whitaker dramatically quit, leaving his former castmates devastated.

The beloved judge confirmed he will no longer be a regular on the Channel Nine juggernaut, which is currently filming its twentieth season on Phillip Island.

Whitaker took on a limited role as a judge last year to support his partner, David, as he faced serious health challenges.

He is expected to make guest appearances on the upcoming season alongside judges Shaynna Blaze, Darren Palmer and newcomer Marty Fox.

The acclaimed interior designer's exit comes after Keith Schleiger, aka Foreman Keith, confirmed he will also have a reduced role on the new series.
